POSITION SUMMARY: The technical editor’s main task is to support the design and technical documents. The NuScale Power, LLC (NuScale) technical editor provides support to this development effort by editing author input, applying quality standards, and ensuring documents are formatted according to NuScale standards and styles.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Reports to the Manager, DCRM for progress reporting and assignment instructions.
- Provides technical editing of documents that support company documentation.
- Uses strong technical editing, document planning, and organizational skills.
- Uses strong technical editing, document planning, and organizational expertise to implement processes and formats that ensure the NuScale subject matter experts (SME) are writing according to standardized work practices, procedures, and current guides.
- Assists in the development, implementation, and maintenance of Corporate Services’ procedures that instruct authors and other document production staff how to work to NuScale’s standardized work practices.
- Provide technical editing support to NuScale through the Corporate Services department to ensure that all internal and outgoing NuScale technical publications are prepared to the highest industry standard and consistent with corporate approved formats and styles.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- Safety and security: Observes safety and security procedures and uses equipment and materials properly.
- Oral/written communication: Listens carefully and speaks clearly and professionally in all situations. Edits work for accuracy and clarity. Is able to create, read, and interpret complex written information. Ability to develop strong interpersonal networks within the organization.
MINIMUM SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND ABILITIES:
- Education: A minimum of an associate degree in in Technical Communications, English, Journalism, or related field, a B.A is preferred; direct, highly relevant experience of additional 4 years’ experience may be substituted for degree.
- Experience: A minimum of 5 years’ experience as a technical editor in the development of engineering/technical documents. Proficient with style rules and ability to understand complex content related to logic and reasoning.
- Industry Requirements: Eligible to work under Department of Energy 10 CFR Part 810.

Pay and Benefits:
The target pay range for this position is $33.43 - $36.95 per hour. The full pay range is $27.45 - $42.93 per hour.
At NuScale, compensation decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, full-time working experience, education and training, equity within the department.
