Seeking junior-level Editor for ForConstructionPros.com and IRONPROS.com brands, who is willing and able to juggle multiple tasks and projects with varying deadlines. B2B journalism experience necessary. Writing experience a must. Also must be proficient in proofreading/editing, working in a content management system and understanding social media.
- Ensure that content adheres to in-house style guide.
- Stay abreast of construction- and equipment-related news to create new digital content.
- Help manage contributed content.
- Attend tradeshows/conferences.
- Repurpose content for different forms of media.
- Write both short- and long-form articles with multiple sources.
- Must be organized, communicative and deadline-oriented.
- Must be comfortable dealing with advertisers, conducting video interviews, conducting over-the-phone interviews and participating in team and company meetings with video on.
- Act as support system to senior editorial staff.
- Work with senior editorial staff to identify top industry topics and create digital content around trending keywords.
- Help monitor digital traffic to determine keywords and understand what works online and what doesn’t.
- Write news items, blogs, articles and high-value content for both print and online.
- Utilize graphic design platforms to create cutting-edge graphics to be used on social media platforms.
Purpose: To support the brand, content and project efforts.
Job Results/Outcomes
1. Ensure websites and print contain fresh content, including written, audio, video and visual.
- Input news items, blogs, articles, contributed bylines and other content into the content management system for assigned brands.
- Monitor digital traffic to learn what content is working and what content isn’t.
- Continue to meet editorial deadlines.
- Ensure content is edited and proofread.
- Help repurpose content across different brand channels.
- Write both short- and long-form articles with multiple sources.
- Collaborate with senior editorial staff to identify content.
- Post and submit content based on schedule.
- Stay abreast of industry news and events.
- Ensure that content adheres to in-house style guide.
- Generate original content ideas and potential revenue opportunities and present those for vetting and approval.
2. Other duties as assigned are achieved in helping the brand(s) meet revenue goal(s)
- Act as support system to senior editorial staff.
- Engage in client networking and building relationships.
- Help manage awards or recognition programs in the works for both brands.
- Attend tradeshows/conferences.
- Participate in team and company meetings.

- Bachelor’s Degree or five years of experience writing articles and/or news, as well as advanced editing
