Job Description

Position Summary:


We are looking for a onsite Director of Sustainability located in Scotts Valley, CA, El Cajon, CA, or Spanish Springs, NV who will lead the overall program management of our global sustainability strategy, Fox Factory Frontiers. This strategy consists of 3 pillars - Product, People, & Planet – supported by Business Fundamentals, all of which have key material areas of focus. Reporting to the Chief Purpose & Inclusion Officer, this role requires passion and proven technical expertise in understanding and implementing solutions that make a positive impact in terms of environmental, social, governance as well as overall business operations. The Director of Sustainability will lead the Sustainability Alliance, a cross-functional group made up of pillar workstream leads responsible for implantation across the business, and will have one reporting team member, the Sustainability Senior Manager, Asia Pacific, located in Taiwan. Beyond strategic leadership, they must also have specific proven expertise in climate and GHG emissions impact solutions, as this role will also lead our North American Planet and Product pillar activation efforts. The Director of Sustainability will also own our annual governance, data collection, stakeholder engagement, reporting, disclosure, and customer assessment requests.


Work Location: The role is not Remote, but can be in based out of any of the 3 company locations - Scotts Valley, CA, El Cajon, CA or Spanish Springs, NV.


Position Responsibilities:


  • Partner with Corporate Communications and other members of the Purpose & Inclusion team to create and publish the annual sustainability report, leveraging it to advance the adoption of a sustainability mindset internally and awareness externally.
  • Identify vendors and organizations to partner with in uncovering opportunities as well as delivering solutions to support implementation of sustainability efforts.
  • Provide education to expand Board and leadership knowledge and alignment.
  • Serve as the global go-to resource for customer sustainability reporting, benchmarking best-in-class methods, monitoring and understand future trend implications.
  • Analyze current global operations and own prioritization of solutions that support the Fox Frontiers strategy while also optimizing cost efficiency.
  • Manage global budget, schedules, action and workplans, and resources to project completion.
  • Consult workstream and regional/business leaders to positively progress initiatives towards achieving our 2030 aspirations.
  • Own global sustainability KPI’s and data analysis for annual reporting, disclosures, and customer requests.
  • Lead sustainability strategy and drive workstream roadmap implementation plans, owning quarterly progress reporting and ensuring effective initiative management and milestones are achieved.
  • Monitor global standards and legal requirements related to all thing’s sustainability/ESG and engage key stakeholders, regionally and globally, on evolving needs based on common frameworks (e.g., GRI, UNSDG’s, etc.).
  • Represent and promote the global Fox Frontiers Sustainability Strategy to internal and external audiences.
  • Develop strong partnerships with and between global innovation, operations, supply chain, engineering, and human resources teams.


Specific Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Required:


  • Expansive knowledge and experience in global sustainability strategy and implementation roles, with an emphasis on environmental or climate-based solutions
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, emphasis in environment management or sustainability a plus
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to confidently conduct public speaking
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint or visual reporting software skills
  • Relevant experience in working across industry sectors to identify environmental/social issues and develop mitigation measures.
  • Highly organized, self-starter with strong project management skills
  • Experience or training in impact data collection/analysis (e.g., GHG Emission Inventory Management, Life Cycle Analysis) various reporting frameworks (e.g., GRI, CDP, SASB, TCFD, UNSDGs, Ecovadis)
  • Ability to extract, analyze, and manage data for reporting purposes

Position Qualifications:


Education:

Bachelor’s degree preferred, emphasis in environment management or sustainability a plus


Experience:

At least 10 years of experience in corporate social responsibility and sustainability reporting
