Garuda Therapeutics is pioneering the development of off-the-shelf hematopoietic stem cell (HSC)-based cellular therapies for treating patients with blood, bone marrow, immune, and metabolic disorders. The company uses state-of-the-art technologies in developmental biology, gene-editing, stem cells, and mechanobiology to engineer safe, compatible HSCs in scalable quantities to transform the lives of patients in need of an HSC-transplant.
Garuda Therapeutics is seeking highly motivated research associate with outstanding expertise in mouse handling and procedures. Successful candidates will be integral in developing stem cell-derived therapies for hematologic disorders. The position requires enthusiasm, dedication, attention to detail, and teamwork ability. The position will be located in Cambridge, MA.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Perform in vivo imaging of luciferase-tagged cells
- Perform retro-orbital and submandibular blood collection and sample preparation for FACS analyses
- Perform intra-femoral, retro-orbital, and injections of hematopoietic stem cells in humanized murine models
- Perform xenotransplantation to develop leukemia models
- Perform bone marrow, spleen, and lymphnode extraction from murine models
- Perform anesthesia via Isoflurane inhalation and or ketamine/ xylazine injection
- Perform project-specific in vivo experiments
- Perform subcutaneous and intraperitoneal injection of drugs/cells
- Manage the mouse colonies
- Collaborate with other team members to assist with project-specific- in vivo experiments
Required Qualifications:
- Demonstrated excellence in planning and executing experiments
- Highly self-motivated and flexibility in working schedule to accommodate weekend work if necessary
- Independence and ability to troubleshoot
- BS or MS with 5+ years of experience in animal procedures
- Flexible team player excited to collaborate with internal and external partners
- Attention to detail and careful record-keeping
- Experience with hematopoietic stem cell transplant
- Authorized to legally work in US
- Ability to write technical reports and protocols
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects
