We are seeking a skilled and experienced Staff Security Engineer to join our team. As a Staff Security Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining security solutions for our company's systems and networks. You will work closely with our development, IT, and operations teams to ensure that our security policies and procedures are up-to-date and effective.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain technical architecture roadmaps that align with business goals.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security into the software development life cycle.
- Provide technical guidance and training to other staff members on security best practices.
- Conduct security assessments and vulnerability testing to identify potential security risks and vulnerabilities.
- Stay up to date with emerging security threats, vulnerabilities, and technologies, and provide recommendations to enhance our security posture.
- Design and implement security solutions to protect our company's systems and networks from cyber-attacks, data breaches and other security threats.
- Ensure that Security and IT systems meet security, compliance, and performance requirements.
Requirements:
- Strong understanding of security best practices, standards, and frameworks such as NIST, CIS, and OWASP as well as familiarity with zero trust.
- Ability to communicate complex security and technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
- Hands-on experience with security and IT tools such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, vulnerability scanners, SIEM (Security Information and Event Management), Crowdstrike, and Okta.
- Familiarity with containerization technologies, such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience with infrastructure as code tools, such as Terraform, CloudFormation, and Ansible.
- Experience with cloud security and DevSecOps
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to mentor and manage a team of engineers.
- 10+ years of experience in security and IT engineering with a strong focus on cloud-native environments.
- Strong knowledge of security protocols, cryptography, authentication, authorization, and access control technologies.
- Proven track record of designing and implementing secure cloud-native solutions.
- Expert knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
The base salary compensation range targeted for this role based out of Gigamon' s Santa Clara, CA, Headquarters office is $135,500 - $176,000, with an opportunity to earn an annual bonus or commission (subject to terms and conditions of the plan). This salary range is an estimate, and the actual salary may vary based on the Company’s compensation practices.
Employees in this position are eligible to participate in the Company’s standard employee benefit programs, which currently include health insurance, health savings accounts, life, AD&D, disability, 401(k) plan with company matching contributions, paid time off (holidays, vacation, and sick), tuition reimbursement, employee assistance program (EAP), business travel accident insurance, employee discounts, and employee referral program. Additionally, employees in this position are eligible to participate in the Profit Interest Units plan.
