Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated IT Security Engineer with Fortinet experience to join our team. As an IT Security Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the security of our company's information systems and networks, with a specific focus on Fortinet technologies. You will work closely with the IT team to identify and mitigate security risks, implement security measures, and respond to security incidents.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The following and other duties may be assigned as necessary:

• Implement and manage information security policies, standards, and procedures to safeguard the company's data and information systems.

• Configure, manage, and monitor Fortinet security technologies, including FortiGate firewalls, FortiAnalyzer, FortiManager, and FortiClient.

• Conduct regular security assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration tests using Fortinet tools to identify vulnerabilities and recommend appropriate remediation measures.

• Monitor network traffic and security logs to detect and respond to security incidents in a timely manner, leveraging Fortinet's security event and information management capabilities.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure security best practices are followed in the development and implementation of new systems and applications that integrate with Fortinet technologies.

• Stay up-to-date with the latest security threats, vulnerabilities, and industry trends related to Fortinet solutions, and recommend appropriate security controls and countermeasures.

• Support in the maintenance of security incident response plans, leveraging Fortinet's security orchestration and automation features, and actively participate in incident response activities.

• Conduct security awareness training for employees to promote a culture of security and educate them about safe computing practices within the context of Fortinet solutions.

• Perform security risk assessments, leveraging Fortinet's security frameworks and tools, and provide recommendations for risk mitigation and security enhancements.

• Participate in security audits and compliance assessments, ensuring adherence to relevant regulations and frameworks, including any specific requirements related to Fortinet deployments.

• Other duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, Fortinet NSE, CompTIA Security+)are highly desirable.

• Proven experience (4+ years) as an IT Security Engineer or in a similar role, with a strong focus on information security and risk management, specifically involving Fortinet technologies.

• In-depth knowledge of network and system security principles, protocols, and best practices, with hands-on experience configuring and managing Fortinet solutions.

• Experience with Fortinet security technologies, such as intrusion detection/prevention systems, SIEM tools, endpoint protection, vulnerability management tools, FortiGate firewalls, FortiAnalyzer, FortiManager, FortiClient, and other components of the Fortinet Security Fabric.

• Strong understanding of security frameworks and regulations (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, GDPR) and their practical implementation within the context of Fortinet deployments.

• Familiarity with secure coding practices, application security, and secure software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies.

• Ability to analyze complex technical environments, identify security vulnerabilities, and recommend appropriate solutions using Fortinet technologies.

• Proficiency in performing security assessments, penetration testing, and vulnerability management leveraging Fortinet tools and resources.

• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to respond quickly to security incidents and provide effective resolutions, leveraging Fortinet's security orchestration and automation capabilities.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate complex security concepts, particularly related to Fortinet deployments, to non-technical stakeholders.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents in English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to read and communicate verbally in English. Written communication skills in in English may also be required.

Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
