Title: Sr. Recruiter


Position Summary


Reports to: Director, Human Resources


Supervising Position: No


Job Competencies:


  • Employment Legislation, Policies and Procedures: Applying and understanding of employment legislation, policies, and procedures to perform one’s work.
  • Leverages Technology Effectively: Aligns to expected norms and behaviors in the use of technology. Utilizes all appropriate elements of technological tools available in a way that is efficient and logical. Maintains a current understanding of technological capabilities and proposes adaptation as needed.
  • HR Data Management: Collects, organizes and stores data regarding personnel, company documents and resources and ensuring the data of these files are up to date and meet legal compliance.
  • Recruitment and Selection: Provides advice and services related to attracting, sourcing (advertising, job fairs etc.), evaluating (determining and implementing selection criteria and strategy), interviewing and the intake (i.e. negotiating offers) of appropriate talent to meet the organization’s human resources needs.
  • HR Operations: Oversees process and procedures related to human resource management (HRM) in all aspects of the employee lifecycle according to legal requirements, internal policies, and current best practice standards.


Duties and Responsibilities:


Recruitment, Selection, and Onboarding 70%


  • Conduct reference checks and initiate background screens
  • Research and seek out opportunities to build relationships with colleges and universities; attend career fairs in person and online in order to elevate Out & Equal’s brand and build candidate pipeline
  • Draft copy for social media outreach related to searches in order to better leverage social media in recruitment
  • Prepare candidates and their managers for onboarding and orientation processes
  • Sell Out & Equal’s generous total rewards package and set expectations about organizational process and norms.
  • Oversee pre-boarding processes and paperwork to ensure candidates are ready to start on hire date, including working with IT to provide new hires with computers, software and equipment
  • Provide weekly reports to Director of HR on recruitment and selection efforts.
  • Work closely with hiring managers to understand their needs to identify the right talent, while supporting a consistent and fair hiring process
  • Conduct orientation and maintain orientation slide deck and other materials
  • Actively source and vet candidates to ensure the organization is meeting its objectives related to candidate quality, as well as diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging
  • Create, maintain, and utilize list of position advertising sites and networks for commonly held positions in order to actively target qualified candidates who are from historically marginalized groups.
  • Provides subject matter expertise on hiring techniques and legal issues regarding hiring practices; gathers competitive intelligence, industry trends, and labor market data to create and execute search strategies


Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (10%)


  • Assist with self-ID data management and related EEO-1 reporting.
  • Curate intersectional candidate pipelines to maximize the presence of underrepresented identities on staff
  • In partnership with Director of HR, co-lead DEIB programming for staff, including lunch-and-learns, book clubs, formal training or speaking opportunities, intranet resources, internal communications, and more.
  • Serve as a steward of equitable pay and recruitment processes
  • Propose internal SOPs and policy related to matters of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB)


HR Data Management and Offboarding 15%


  • Facilitate the offboarding process, including working with IT to collect computer and remove systems access
  • File application materials, offer letters, arbitration agreements, confidentiality agreements, resignation notices, and the like
  • Assist with updating employee records and filing data related to performance management, pay, benefits, and the like


Other 5%


  • Other duties as assigned
  • Support Out & Equal events in person when needed

Salary:


  • Typical hiring range for all other locations: 59,000.00 -79,000.00
  • Typical hiring range for high cost of living locations (DC/CA/NYC): 69,327.00 - 92,435.00
