Sr Manager, Supply Chain & Purchasing

Entrinsic Bioscience is seeking a highly skilled, experienced Sr. Manager of Supply Chain & Purchasing to join our organization. The Sr Manager of Supply Chain & Purchasing will be responsible for creating finished goods to forecast, managing inventory, vendors and sourcing equipment, goods, and services.This position is also responsible for performing strategic procurement activities across multiple categories of spend, searching for better deals, and identifying more profitable suppliers.This position reports to the Sr Vice President of Operations and is vital to both long term strategic planning while also being hands-on on a day-to-day basis.

The key to success will be the ability to collaborate with senior leadership on Entrinsic’s overall business goals and strategy, and be able to translate, drive, and implement the strategy and goals throughout the company’s purchasing and supply chain. With an intuitively engaging and approachable style, the successful candidate will display leadership and professionalism with a strong understanding of balancing supply chain responsibilities with the need for deep collaboration with product marketing and collaborative partnership building with suppliers outside the organization.

It is essential that this person is an expert in contract management, demand planning, inventory management, financial management and relationship building. The Sr Manager will work across functional boundaries to ensure high levels of customer service and satisfaction relative to inventory turns, management and communication of inventory. They will develop tools to improve both the speed and the quality of our purchasing decisions and will be expected to quickly identify and implement process improvements for ordering, information, and inventory management.

Duties and Responsibilities

·Develop, lead, and execute purchasing and inventory management and control strategies

·Manage the production and purchasing process to ensure ample inventory of finished goods to meet demand

·Generate and distribute accurate purchase orders

·Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness

·Craft negotiation strategies and close deals with optimal terms

·Partner with stakeholders to ensure clear requirements documentation

·Monitor and forecast upcoming levels of demand

·Perform cost and scenario analysis and benchmarking

·Establish standard operating procedures for purchasing; monitor the effectiveness of procedures; revise and

improve purchasing processes

·Seek and partner with reliable vendors and suppliers

·Exercise discretion and judgment

·Negotiate or renegotiate and administer contracts with vendors

·Evaluate vendors to ensure compliance with company quality and auditing requirements

·Ensure materials and products are received on time and intact, and in the quality and at the cost agreed upon with vendor

·Coordinate with scheduling to monitor inventory requirements to meet tight production schedule deadlines

·Establish second source suppliers

·Work with order management, sales & marketing, product managers, manufacturing, suppliers, distribution

centers and third party logistics provider in support of business objectives

Continuously evaluate and assess supplier performance reports consistent with agreed to requirements to

insure consistency with quality, service, and delivery targets

Meet with suppliers to discuss issues, performance, and future strategies; evaluates supplier processes and

partners with suppliers to establish best in class performance

Responsible for leading planners through S&OP/Operating Review meetings - identify business critical issues

and facilitate discussion and decision making in support of goals & objectives


Requirements and Qualifications

·Bachelor's degree in business administration, management, finance, or related field

·5+ years previous experience as purchasing officer, supply chain manager, or related position

·Solid knowledge and understanding of manufacturing and purchasing processes, policy, and systems

Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate across multiple levels within the organization and

develop rapport with other functional leaders internally and externally

·Familiarity with sourcing and vendor management

·Proven track record of treating vendors as partners

·Inventory control and management experience

·Skilled at negotiation and networking

·Ability to gather and analyze data and to work with figures

·Solid judgement and sound decision making skills

·Ability to handle multiple tasks, with ability to meet deadlines

·Excellent communication and relationship management skills

·Strong working knowledge of inventory planning, forecasting techniques as well as operational systems and

warehouse management

·Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, and Excel)

·Experience with ERP Purchasing and Scheduling solutions

·Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to negotiate, establish, and process contracts

·Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently

·Accurate and precise attention to detail

·Able to make decisions in a fast-paced environment

·Ability to create structure and to develop sustainable processes for fast-growing organization

·Ability to anticipate supply chain and manufacturing bottle necks and implement proactive solutions
