The Role


Enable NPI capability and capacity for NPI throughout PLM Phases for all products supporting AMD growth.


The Person


  • Ownership is key. This candidate will have complete ownership of the NPI planning and Advanced Level Packaging Forecast
  • Possess Analytical mindset with a drive to continuous improvement.
  • Ability to collaborate with teams across the globe in different time zones.
  • Team Management skills and have experience managing a global team.
  • Ability to collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams to support successful NPI ramps.
  • Ability to react quickly to change in input signals and analyze based on these changes and provide directions to mitigate risks if any.


Key Responsibilities


NPI Planning


  • Site identifications and Site Qualification schedules. Provide priority accordingly.
  • ECM and hardware checkout readiness, understanding and drive gaps vs hardware ETA/orders.
  • Gather ENG samples and indices to support ENG activities at production sites.
  • Work closely with SCT Team to plan for capability and capacity:
  • NPI milestones for UU, Package Qual, EVT, DVT, Qi (IP) and Qi+1 Launch readiness.
  • Communicate to SCT on CAPEX proposals and drive towards optimized costs.
  • Owner for Sort and Test Hardware reusability and new HW requirement


Financial analysis for NPI Sort and Test hardware investments


  • Ability to justify longevity of investments.
  • Understand business model of consignments, lead times, budget allocations.
  • Understand AOP vs actual commit budget.
  • ROI analysis to justify CAPEX commits month over month.
  • Identify AOP budget commits and deliveries.
  • Understand demand changes since AOP vs current MOF requirements.
  • Update CAPEX approval products for HW inventory tracking


Product Life Cycle Management


  • Guide site allocations depending upon site readiness especially at Qi to Qi+1
  • Support PLM gate reviews for NPI from Feasibility to Production Ramp Exit gate
  • Working closely with Capacity team (Asia and Austin), Procurement and JV/OSAT Partners
  • Prepare samples requirement monthly to quarterly prior to JV/OSAT loading communication.
  • Ability to explain about NPI and how it impacts Supply Chain especially capacity/CAPEX.
  • Prepare documentation and represent supply chain at gate review forums.
  • Understand JV/OSAT revenue business model for loading decisions.


Advanced Level Packaging


  • Consult with engineering teams across BU to include engineering forecast and latest planning parameters from FPP and/or SPP to create above mentioned forecast.
  • Generate Advanced Packaging Backend wafer forecasts to secure long term capacity reservations with Fab supplier each month.
  • Improve forecasting process through automation projects.
  • Work with Wafer forecasting team to bridge the individual wafers plan versus the ALP Forecast to identify gaps.
  • Work with GPO to provide forecast to TSMC and upon receipt of capacity commits provide delta analysis of demand versus capacity.
  • Maintain historical forecasts and assumptions and ability to explain the revision changes.
  • Upon this work with NPI teams/Product Planning/Wafer teams/GPO and BU to close on the starts requirement to consume all the capacity
  • Key owner for all forecast related queries and presentation packages to management with regards ALP.


Academic Credentials


Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Business, Engineering, or related field industry experience
