Position Overview:
The Sr. Manager of Business Performance, Data Governance & Transformation Performance will drive financial systems, change management, and process transformation. This position will report to the Director of Investments, Incentives, Performance & Transformation.
Role and Responsibilities
Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Create and drive a business transformation culture of individual ownership, responsibility, and visibility
  • Incorporate emerging business intelligence technologies, industry trends, and best practices, as appropriate into the organization’s data capabilities
  • Drive successful management and delivery of business transformation and executes strategies and directions to ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of the organization
  • Design create data sources and application program interfaces (API)
  • Work closely with external partners, senior leadership, and cross-functional teams from a wide variety of backgrounds to develop, implement, and ensure successful business outcomes
  • Establish an investment and finance organization that quickly and accurately produces financial reporting
  • Build interactive dashboards and regularly provide business updates, insights, recommendations, and strategic guidance to executive leadership
  • Implement and deploy an agile planning tool to centralize finance functions
  • Facilitate, develop, and maintain systems and processes to produce more transparent and accurate financial statement reporting while improving efficiencies for the finance organization.
  • Continuously Identify and evaluate new technologies and tools embedding ML, AI, and robotics to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of financial data management and analysis
  • Communicate financial data insights and trends to senior executives and stakeholders
Skills and Qualifications
Background/Experience Required:
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, or related field and 8+ years' of experience in implementing planning tools and transforming financial systems. Master’s degree preferred
  • Independent thinking self-starter who’s developed strong working partnerships in global corporations (multi-lingual Korean a plus)
  • Knowledge of key technology enablers designed for Finance and Accounting productivity (e.g, Consolidation tools, Month End Close Management tools (SAC or Adaptive, etc.) RPA, Imaging Platforms, Workflow Tools, OCR, Task Managers, Reconciliation Platforms, etc.)
  • Experience in managing data security and compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Strong knowledge of data architecture, data governance, data analytics, and financial reporting principles and best practices
  • Familiarity with financial systems such as ERP, financial reporting, and budgeting tools
  • Skills/Tools – MDM, SQL, ETL, Data analysis tools – R, Python, Access
  • 5+ years’ experience with SAP
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite of PC software applications experience with solid Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Knowledge/expertise/experience: Data solution and process Governance, Data management, Data quality, Data mining, Business requirement gathering
Necessary Skills and Attributes:
Demonstrated ability to interact at all levels within customer's organizations. The ability to negotiate with and convince others, in a potentially adversarial environment, including customer leadership, directors and managers with opposing views to accept/approve plans, technical and project recommendations. The ability to plan, organize and prioritize multiple strategic programs and simultaneous performance objectives. The ability to write, read, interpret, explain and act based on a thorough understanding of technical documents, engineering materials and contracts or related documents. Ability to make professional sales and business presentations in writing, through email, reports, or orally, including complex business and technical matters to an audience of high technical skills, management and operational experience. Ability to support a cross-functional Samsung team to achieve customer contracted objectives and specific team goals within established time frames and requirements. Assist in and if needed direct the Samsung team in lab and field trials related to introduction of products sold to the customer.
Physical/Mental Demands:
Work is generally performed in an office environment. Operate a computer keyboard and view a video display terminal between more than 50% of work time, including prolonged periods of time. Requires considerable work utilizing high visual acuity / detail, numeric / character distinction and moderate hand / finger dexterity. The movement and transportation of equipment, most of the time is under 25 pounds. Performs work under time schedules and stress which are normally periodic or cyclical, including time sensitive deadlines, intellectual challenges and project management deadlines. Machines, tools, equipment, and work aids include PC’s, printers, copiers, faxes and other equipment commonly associated with an office work area. May require working additional hours beyond normal schedule. Travel varies depending on position.
