In line with the procurement mission, the Global Marketing & Event Procurement Sr. Manager will lead the sourcing and operational procurement processes for Global Event category, responsible for defining and implementing of the sourcing strategies and procurement activities for the Marketing and Commercial NPR Categories . The objective of this role is to ensure an efficient, effective, and continuous supply of materials and services for Campari and to support the design and the implementation of the most appropriate sourcing solution through negotiation and contracting processes, constantly investigating opportunities to improve our cost-base in a sustainable way. Under the guidance of the Global Marketing and Media Procurement Director, this position will play a critical role in i mplementing business solutions and best practices in support of the Global Strategic Marketing and Commercial Teams globally with focus on in Jamaica, USA and Canada with our collective ambitions to secure, negotiate and manage big-impact partnerships in the experiential, entertainment, sports and celebrity/influencer world.


Key Responsibilities And Activities


Strategy implementation


  • Coordinates the vendor segmentation, qualification and vendor rating processes for the services they are responsible for. In conjunction with the business stakeholders, carries out vendor audits, and supervises the supplier development process.
  • Support GMPD and/or Global Category Buyers (GCB) with market analysis including SWOT, Porter and other models to assist in the negotiation process and supplier development.
  • Conduct research on market developments, price and cost developments by applying cost models
  • In collaboration with Global Marketing Procurement Director (GMPD) guarantees the execution of the strategic plans supporting, when needed, the Global/Regional buyers with the negotiation with the suppliers
  • N egotiating the best total value for the entrusted categories and scope including supplier selection, pricing model/formula, contract negotiation.
  • Lead and take ownership in implementing the global procurement strategy at local global level for the relevant category
  • Ensure the delivery of productivity via creativity, leveraging scale, new supplier introduction, threat of competition, and other procurement tools.
  • During the contractual phase contributes and supports GMPD /GCB in definition of the legal protection, SLA’s and operative clauses.
  • Supports the execution of the company's sustainability journey


Category Management


  • Define how each of the main suppliers will be managed and what the approach will be with each supplier
  • Implement plan (project pipeline): including initiatives, timeline and value generated (productivity and other KPIs)
  • Conduct category risk management. Maps the risks identified during the external and internal analysis and helps to discuss the level of risk with respective stakeholders
  • Conduct regular overviews showing spend and volumes by sub-category, by supplier
  • Responsible to set up Global Event and Sponsorship categories strategy in alignment with Key Stakeholders for regions to apply the strategy on a regional/local level
  • Develop communication plan and keep the key stakeholders informed/consulted on regular bases
  • Complete and summarize SWOT analysis: summarizes the findings of the external and internal analysis, and gives the conclusions that point to the priorities of the category, that will be addressed with value levers, initiatives we plan to execute and implementation plan
  • Perform external analysis describing the industry, trends, drivers, important industry insights, suppliers, “as-is” and future trends


Innovation


  • Proactively provides insights on market trends, industry development and organizes supplier presentations and ensures follow-up on the agreed action plans.
  • Leads the procurement process in providing solutions to fulfill needs for new Services/product developments


Sourcing


  • Responsible for implementing and executing process to ensure supplier compliance with contract language and agreed KPIs (including negotiation of repayment, refund, or incremental supply in case of non-compliance).
  • Define and implement productivity opportunities delivering value beyond savings approach
  • Develop, prioritize and validate sourcing strategy
  • Define scope of spend and collect, identify and validate requirements of stakeholder (volumes, specifications and service levels)
  • Pre-aligning with the budget stakeholders, he/she prepares all the relevant documents for the tendering processes (e.g. RFI/RFQ/RFP, Supplier Code, Corporate Communication Code, NDA, Solvency check, etc.)
  • Ensures contract/legal agreements are saved in a shared repository and monitors the appropriate contract implementation ensuring the compliance with terms agreed. Under the guidance of GCD or GCB defines supplier hierarchy and carries out activities necessary for supplier and material coding.
  • Perform detailed internal and external analysis of market and suppliers
  • Lead and implement opportunities requiring development work of suppliers, upstream sourcing, and supplier relationship management in a harmonized way across Global with a focus on USA, Jamaica and Canada


Contracting


  • Ensure signed contracts are in place for managed spend categories at correct authority level & following all contract template guidelines
  • Build strong relationships with the legal team globally and across the North Cluster and ensure relevant legal support is obtained at the beginning of sourcing activities
  • D evelop, draft or use legal agreement template established by legal department to enable legal agreement implementation with suppliers for managed spend within relevant authority levels (as defined by Global and/or Local Procurement Policy) on SOW volumes, price, quality, delivery and other conditions, liabilities, responsibilities and service levels.


Supplier Relationship Management


  • Responsible for implementing and executing processes to ensure supplier relationships derive the best value via QBR for lead strategic agencies
  • Effective management of category contracting activities. Compliance in internal and external audit and other procurement governance KPIs
  • Effective evaluation and management of potential risks in the supplier based (financial, reputational, technical and value add capabilities
  • Implement and manage effective well-documented Supplier Relationship Agreement reducing the possibility of confusion or disputes


Personal & Team Development


  • Coach/mentor other team members as required
  • Contributes to the continuous development and improvement of procurement processes, procedures and tools
  • Contribute to the Assessment of the dotted-lined team members’ capabilities, and development opportunities


Compliance


  • Recommend new procedures or adjustments to existing procedures to improve the efficiency of the Marketing Procurement Department.
  • Ensure that items purchased meet Food Safety and Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) requirements and specifications.
  • Manage cost savings projects (to include all Sievo projects)


Experience Required


  • Previous experience in Marketing in FMCG segment and/or advertising/event agency is a strong advantage
  • Proficient in utilizing Enterprise-class systems such as SAP and or Coupa
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a senior role in Marketing Procurement at a multinational level
  • Strong knowledge in negotiation with BTL/ATL agency focusing on Events, Sponsorship and, Experiential
  • PR, Sponsorship, POS, Creative, Digital, Media, Influencers with beverage industry experience as a plus
  • Strong background in procurement category management in FMCG companies, sourcing negotiations, contract administration/ negotiation, senior marketing stakeholders management


Education / Professional Qualifications


  • Project management certification is an asset
  • Professional qualifications: CPSM/CPM is an asset or equivalent
  • University degree in business, marketing and communication, finance, industrial engineering, economics or technical discipline.


The expected base salary for this position, based in New York City ranges from $150,000 - $187,500. The range will vary if outside of this location. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors and considerations. In addition to base salary and a generous employee benefits package, employees are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus .
