About the Role:
As a member of the Procurement team, you will manage procurement activities and provide overall vendor governance and oversight within the Commercial and Marketing functions. You will assist in the ongoing development of the company-wide procurement processes and partner with all levels of leadership cross-functionally to build impactful, efficient and cost-effective vendor relationships by:
- Support the business in sourcing, negotiating and contracting for the products & services they require.
- Deliver savings against these categories.
- Liaison with Business controllers to ensure accurate forecasting and budgeting.
- Execute process excellence in procurement controls
- Participate on regional Americas initiatives and manage the interface with Global Purchasing in Netherlands
- Driving procurement strategy and policy in the key Commercial spend areas. Focus on driving value while also providing process support to enable efficiencies within the functions.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage sourcing and vendor management strategies. Take full independent ownership for procurement for assigned commercial categories which include but are not limited to the following:
- Sampling Programs- Traditional and Non-Traditional
- Below The Line (BTL) Agencies
- Activations
- Package Design
Execute and deliver on Procurement strategies:
- Negotiate with prospective vendors on matters of price, scope and contract performance, to secure the best overall value to Heineken
- Prepare, lead and execute tenders
- Understand and incorporate external and internal dynamics to enable the development of aligned procurement strategies
- Align category strategies with relevant stakeholders
- Translate strategic plans into short term actions
- Demonstrate contracting skills with vendors in order to secure optimal terms and conditions in tandem with legal
Manage and develop vendors to drive value and innovation:
- Define commercial terms, SLAs, KPIs, etc.
- Lead resolution of any escalation of issues with vendors
- Manage relationships with Strategic and Critical vendors to promote opportunities and innovation
- Form strong relationships with vendor partners
- Lead vendor performance reviews
Exercise strong Business Partnering skills:
- Partner with other cross-functional leaders to implement functional processes and identify organizational improvement opportunities
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders (up to VP and RVP level) to ensure to ensure business needs are being addressed.
- Act as escalation point and subject matter expert for both internal and external parties
- Build and sustain effective stakeholder relationships
- Liaise with Global and Americas Regional Procurement teams
- Collaborate with regional and global Procurement teams on initiatives representing Heineken USA requirements
Basic Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Finance, Business, Marketing, or a related field
- Ability to identify and cultivate relationships with key stake holders, representing a broad range of functions and levels.
- Ability to travel outside the US no more than 2 times a year.
- Independent, self-motivated, and results-oriented, including ability to prioritize several conflicting demands to achieve optimum performance while maintaining a sense of urgency.
- 5+ years of recent Commerce procurement experience, preferably within the CPG industry
- Able to work with cross functional teams and demonstrate leadership regardless of role or direct reporting line
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to speak clearly and express self in groups and one-to-one conversations.
- Proven in-depth knowledge of sourcing and procurement principles and best practices.
- Demonstrated consistency and attention to detail; possesses high level of organization and strong focus on maintaining global standards and processes

Compensation & Benefits:
- Benefits - Medical/Dental/Vision + Matching 401k Plan
- Base Salary Range: $130,000 - $140,000 + Annual Bonus
- Vacation – 20 Days Paid Vacation & Unlimited Sick Days
- $200 Monthly Beverage Allowance
