Sr Graphic Designer / Art Director

Attention beauty and fashion junkies: bkr — makers of the cult favorite water bottle loved by the beauty and fashion industries — has an exciting opportunity for a talented Art Director to join our company. The ideal candidate will be exceedingly creative and able to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, work-from-home environment with multiple cross-functional partners. As Art Director, you will be the design lead for bkr content: brand campaigns, emails, site assets, paid and organic social, photography, video, product and shipment packaging. The ideal candidate has a love of brand building with strong experience in creative direction AND execution. Preferably with a skillset to create on-brand photographic and video assets. bkr is a small, fast-moving company, so you will be able to directly impact the look and feel of many products — and truly say that you’ve created something from start to finish.

THE ROLE

• Create visually stunning, cohesive designs that align with our brand identity and resonate with our target audience
• Partner with Founder to develop and build a strong brand. Functions as design lead, brand manager and executer to ensure consistency across brand through all channels. Develop visual design standards for brand
• Lead with creative vision and inspire team to think conceptually and create exciting, elevated creative solutions. Educate team in creative expertise and knowledge including art direction, photography, design, and typography
• Manage graphic designers and venders to ensure projects track to schedule, creative adheres to brief and executes properly. Assigns workload and responsibilities to team in thoughtful manner to develop direct reports and build effective creative team
• Understand and strategically apply the latest platform/industry/creative trends and digital best practices in social; always seeking the next opportunity in this space for the brand
• Partner with Marketing and Operations team to ensure accuracy of project timelines
• Take and retouch photos in your home studio to create new and engaging content for digital and social campaigns
• Understands both marketing and creative needs to provide creative solutions that meet business objectives
• Act as a brand advocate, ensuring the brand's visual identity is faultlessly executed across all touchpoints and marketing materials

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

• Keen eye for luxury design and understanding of the luxury and/or beauty space
• 5-7 years creative experience, especially in digital channels along with fluent understanding of current digital trends and social landscape
• Strong portfolio of design concept work showing ability to produce on-brand creative
• Clear understanding of social marketing techniques
• Portfolio featuring your dynamic content
• Background in photography and/or video work a bonus
• Willingness and ability to roll up sleeves and execute work
• Concept direction for photo and video assets including understand lighting and directing product rendering
• Proficient knowledge of Adobe programs: InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Lightroom. Premiere Pro and Sketch are a plus
• Understanding of beauty and fashion
• Solid organizational and time management skills; along with being detail oriented, you have the ability to juggle priorities and work in a very fast paced environment and meet tight deadlines
• Intermediate to advanced retouching and color sifting skills
• Strong relationship-building skills; ability to work with a variety of people in various disciplines
