Sr. Financial Reporting Accountant

Take a leading role in the coordination and preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and footnotes associated with the Company’s reporting obligations to various stakeholders. This role is a critical to the reporting process in providing information necessary to meet reporting needs of management, sponsors and other stakeholders in a timely manner.
Essential Functions:

• Work across the organization to drive internal reporting improvements and automation. Manages the accounting team design of templates/workpapers, account roll forwards and support for the reporting process.
• Accumulating and summarizing the financial information for internal and external reporting
• Ad hoc projects that result from various activities of the company.
• Manages the development and maintenance of OneStream and Yardi reports.
• Preparation of GAAP financial statements for Company and other reporting segments
• Coordinates preparation of various schedules supporting notes of financial statements
• Identifies and participates in department-wide process improvement/process automation projects.
• Works with people at all organization levels to collect and summarize significant transactions and major activities of the company for consideration and evaluation of accounting and reporting disclosures.
• Responsible for ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of financial reports and reporting packages for internal and external stakeholders.
• Maintains a general expertise in GAAP and assists with the implementation of new accounting pronouncements. Assists with technical accounting research and preparation of supporting documentation, analyses, and accounting whitepapers for technical accounting matters as assigned.
• Prepares monthly journal entries, monthly and/or quarterly account reconciliations, for assigned areas.
• Prepares GAAP checklists and tie outs of financial statements and notes.
• Interacts broadly with various finance, accounting, external and internal auditors and other teams. Coordinates with internal auditor to ensure compliance with financial reporting controls.
• Prepares monthly CAO reporting package as well as sponsor reporting templates in collaboration with other teams to compile the necessary information. Assist with tie out of the various presentations, as needed.
• Preparation of the statement of cash flows.

Minimum Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years of accounting experience in public accounting, or combination of public accounting and industry/private equity.
• B.S. or equivalent degree in accounting.
• Familiarity with US GAAP and reporting standards.
• CPA highly preferred.
• 2+ years’ experience in a financial reporting role.

Skills:

• Experienced with accounting research and position documentation.
• Highly organized, great attention to detail, matched with the ability to see and communicate the big picture.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations where limited procedures currently exist.
• Strong working knowledge and experience with general accounting and reporting applications. OneStream or similar reporting tool experience, preferred.
• Advanced working knowledge of Excel, Workiva or similar reporting tools
• Strong verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Self-motivated individual who takes ownership. Strong judgment and integrity with commitment to precision and excellence in all work product.
