Reconciles multiple general ledger accounts and state bank accounts on a routine basis. Reviews controls and quality measures of the payment and budget process. Work hours: Mon-Fri; 8 AM-5 PM or as work requirements indicate; after 5:00 p.m. and weekends may be required occasionally.

Hybrid eligible. While most job duties are required to be performed on campus, a portion can be performed remotely. Generally, work can be done off-site without loss of productivity and efficiency, but most work requires on-site presence and/or in-person collaboration with other team members and/or mentoring. Employees in these positions may request hybrid schedules/locations utilizing the AWL process.

Remote eligible. We expect that full-time remote work may be available in cases where such arrangements meet the operational needs of the department and benefit the department and the University.

Responsibilities

• 5% Manages accounting related projects as instructed by the Director of Financial Accounting. This may include implementation of new technology, review of current procedures or process improvement opportunities or any additional duties as assigned.
• 10% Provides exemplary service to campus departments while assisting with monitoring of accounts.
• 10% Assists with annual financial reports and related schedules as needed.
• 25% Serves as the contact person for state funding issues. Implements procedures to ensure proper reporting related to State funding. Serves as contact for real property transactions and construction project accounting.
• 40% Maintains accounts with the USAS fund group, including account documentation, review of expenditures, review of proper coding, and recommendation of changes in account structure to improve transparency. Prepares journal entries and reconciliations related to State accounts. Prepares all reporting related to State accounts.
• 10% Responsible for reconciling general ledger accounts on a routing basis and approving payments on a daily basis. Responsible for creating and maintaining accurate routing and security paths for university accounts and related university computer systems.

Education and Experience:-Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of training and experience.-Four years of related experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:-Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software. Oral and written communication skills. Customer service and problem solving skills.-Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
