Assistant Controller, Financial Reporting

Position Summary:

Hillwood Corporate Services is currently seeking to hire an Assistant Controller, Financial Reporting to join our centralized accounting team in Dallas, TX. This position is responsible for managing financial reporting and analysis and internal control activity in Corporate Services Accounting.

Responsibilities:

• Financial statements include balance sheet, income statement, partners’ equity and cash flow.
• Prepare and review quarterly GAAP financial statements and footnote disclosures for multiple entities.
• Prepare and review quarterly and annual account roll forwards/supporting schedules related to footnote disclosures (specifically notes payable, contingent liabilities, notes receivable and other schedules as necessary)
• Lead annual agreed upon procedures
• Review quarterly GAAP financial statements and footnote disclosures of multiple individual entities
• Assist with process improvements, IT implementations of accounting applications and ad hoc projects as necessary
• Manage staff of two offshore associates
• Includes finalizing statement of work with auditors, preparation and/or review of audit schedules, coordination of obtaining audit support and follow up with external auditors as necessary.
• Prepare and review quarterly lender covenant compliance calculations and cover letters
• Lead comprehensive control environment assessment conducted by accounting firm
• Prepare quarterly analysis of the balance sheet and income statement for multiple entities
• Review of multiple individual entity audits.
• Lead annual review of control documentation

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required; CPA required
• Experience with JD Edwards accounting package and/or OneStream application preferred
• Consolidation experience required
• Real estate and/or partnership accounting experience required
• Minimum 10 years related experience required
