Job Description
ADP is hiring a Senior Financial Analyst - FP&A.

  • Are you looking to join a dynamic, inclusive team environment with a culture of collaboration and belonging?
  • Are you a financial analyst with expertise in Excel and creating financial models from scratch?
  • Are you highly skilled in partnering with business units to provide critical analysis and support?

Well, this may be the role for you.

As a Senior Financial Analyst - FP&A, you will lead the forecasting, planning and analytical support for one of ADP's business units. You will analyze drivers of revenue and expense within your business unit and use historical performance, operational business decisions/assumptions, and macroeconomic conditions to project future outcomes.

You will build, review, and enhance revenue and expense models. Collaborating with Finance business unit partners to build and share knowledge will be critical. You will also oversee storytelling, including connecting results and key metrics to provide a detailed, but concise explanation around performance and forward-looking projections.

The day to day of this role will depend on which part of the financial life cycle we are in. While the day to day may shift, common to all these activities is one thing: becoming the subject matter expert for your business unit.

What You'll Do

Here's what you can expect on a typical day:

  • Strategic Planning and Initiatives. You will assist leaders in developing strategies and initiatives to drive growth and margin improvements and execute on strategic initiatives such as M-A support, product launches, market entry, and process improvement efforts. Additionally, you will provide analytical support, conduct research as required, and help to develop and coach new and junior associates.
  • Business Partnering. You will partner with key stakeholders to align on business priorities and drive effective solutions/execution. You will make compelling arguments based on facts and data and obtain necessary buy-in to deliver on business objectives.
  • Operating Planning and Forecasting. You will support leaders in creating an annual operating plan that is aligned to the strategic plan and perform forecasting that provides visibility into business results to enable business decisions.
  • Experience. You have 5+ years of experience in relevant skills gained and developed in a Financial Analyst, Senior Financial Analyst, or similar role.
  • Business Analysis. You will employ a deep understanding of objectives, issues and root causes and provide insightful, fact-based data analysis to help solve complex problems. Additionally, you will assist in managing KPI's such as backlog reporting, staffing requirements, starts, weeks to start, no starts, labor productivity, analysis of implementation, survey scores and client satisfaction.
  • Financial Operational Policy. You will establish and maintain consistent financial operational policies and procedures to govern related practices and comply with all departmental financial operations, policies, and practices.
  • Management Reporting and Financial Close Activities. You will produce and distribute recurring and ad hoc management reports ensuring financial reporting accuracy. You will assist in presentation preparation on results, forecasts, and plans to senior management.

To Succeed In This Role

  • Experience with Hyperion to input financial data, Oracle to pull general ledgers, or similar tools.
  • Advanced Excel experience, including VLOOKUPS, Pivot Tables, and Index Matching.
  • Ability to work well both independently and within a team environment, understanding when best to collaborate to achieve optimal results.
  • Experience presenting to senior leadership.
  • Experience in corporate FP&A, including proven proficiency in performing complex financial analyses on either the revenue or expense side.
  • You will have a Bachelor's degree, or equivalent. An MBA or credits towards an MBA will allow additional comfortability in the role.
  • Ability to think critically and work within set guidelines, but also able to work within the "gray area" when historical trends do not produce reasonable results or projections.
  • Exceptional and effective communication skills, including being able to challenge assumptions and drivers while explaining your position on revenue metrics and drivers.

You'll Love Working Here Because You Can

  • Have courageous team collaboration. Courage comes from how associates are willing to have difficult conversations, speak up, be an owner, and challenge one another's ideas to net out the best solution.
  • Be surrounded by curious learners. We align ourselves with other smart people in an environment where we grow and elevate one another to the next level. We encourage our associates to listen, stay agile, and learn from mistakes.
  • Join a company committed to equality and equity. Our goal is to impact lasting change through our actions.
  • Deliver at epic scale. We deliver real user outcomes using strong judgment and good instincts. We're obsessed with the art of achieving simplicity with a focus on client happiness and productivity.
  • Give back to others. Always do the right thing for our clients and our community and humbly give back to the community where we live and work. Support our associates in times of need through ADP's Philanthropic Foundation.
  • Act like an owner & doer. Mission-driven and committed to leading change, you will be encouraged to take on any challenge and solve complex problems. No tasks are beneath or too great for us. We are hands-on and willing to master our craft.
