Job Description
Teamwork makes the stream work.

Roku Is Changing How The World Watches TV

Roku is the #1 TV streaming platform in the US, and we've set our sights on powering every television in the world. Roku pioneered streaming to the TV. Our mission is to be the TV streaming platform that connects the entire TV ecosystem. We connect consumers to the content they love, enable content publishers to build and monetize large audiences, and provide advertisers unique capabilities to engage consumers.

From your first day at Roku, you'll make a valuable - and valued - contribution. We're a fast-growing public company where no one is a bystander. We offer you the opportunity to delight millions of TV streamers around the world while gaining meaningful experience across a variety of disciplines.

About The Team

The Global Security & Workplace Solutions team leads global strategic initiatives that enhance the office experience for a productive, creative, and thoughtful workforce. Our workplace programs provide space for innovative conversations, inclusive work environments, professional growth and learning, as well as flexible space that increases employee well-being and morale. Roku’s office brand captures the warmth and delight of our company culture, creating opportunities among employees to connect and collaborate. Our strategy defines the business partner engagement model with internal and external stakeholders. We are attuned to the latest workplace trends that allow reimagined solutions and inspire a more thoughtful experience. We provide an immersive work environment, while maintaining high availability services, and we develop experiences that enable dynamic, inclusive, and innovative possibilities across all business lines with technology-enabled collaboration and communication tools.

About The Role

Driving strategic partnerships across the enterprise, the Senior Director, Workplace Experience will lead a diverse, multifunctional global team responsible for proactively delivering inclusive workplace and employee experience solutions specific to individual cultural and business needs.

The Senior Director will establish a “build-for-the-future vision” and related goals and team values to reimagine office and space orientation, strengthening hybrid approaches to the work environment specific to Roku’s unique business segments. Specifically, the leader will lead fit-for-purpose design and execution strategies, growing existing relationships across Roku and building new partnerships both internally and externally.

The incumbent will serve in a senior leadership role within Roku’s Global Security & Workplace Solutions (GSWS) leadership team. Success will in large part be dependent on his/her ability to deliver effective career development to team members; enabling decision-making empowerment across the entire team via a targeted focus on enterprise-wide business acumen.

This is a new role, requiring a strong, experienced leader that will quickly assess team talent, expeditiously orient to the business, work inclusively within the GSWS Leadership Team, and formulate a roadmap leading to next-level growth for an already highly functioning team of exceptional professionals.

What You'll Be Doing

The Senior Director will lead facility and site operations and strategic planning at company sites in San Jose (headquarters), New York City, Austin, Santa Monica, Boston, Chicago, Stamford, Lehi, Concord, London, Cambridge, Manchester, Cardiff, Amsterdam, Aarhus, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Seoul, Hsinchu and Mexico City. Specific areas managed include:

  • Site facilities management
  • Corporate events and employee experience
  • Site utilization data processing
  • Office IT engagement
  • Workplace experience technology roadmap
  • Employee food and beverage program
  • Site workplace management
  • Office/space planning and strategy

We’re excited if you have

  • Demonstrated experience at playing a material role growing a business; specifically, enabling company objectives and shareholder expectations
  • Fifteen or more years managing global, corporate workplace strategy and planning – to include facilities and office-related portfolios – with a strong track record of developing internal and external stakeholder partnerships and cross-functional collaboration
  • Demonstrated experience managing vendor engagements and the ability to evaluate performance based on SOW requirements
  • The equivalent of ten or more years leading global teams and programs, with proved experience developing and empowering people
  • Demonstrated experience in managing high-priority projects with multiple stakeholders at all levels of the business
  • Based in the United States, preferably either in New York, Austin or Santa Monica

The Roku Culture

Roku is a great place for people who want to work in a fast-paced environment where everyone is focused on the company's success rather than their own. We try to surround ourselves with people who are great at their jobs, who are easy to work with, and who keep their egos in check. We appreciate a sense of humor. We believe a fewer number of very talented folks can do more for less cost than a larger number of less talented teams. We’re independent thinkers with big ideas who act boldly, move fast and accomplish extraordinary things through collaboration and trust. In short, at Roku you'll be part of a company that's changing how the world watches TV.

We have a unique culture that we are proud of. We think of ourselves primarily as problem-solvers, which itself is a two-part idea. We come up with the solution, but the solution isn't real until it is built and delivered to the customer. That penchant for action gives us a pragmatic approach to innovation, one that has served us well since 2002.
