Job Description
The Senior Compliance Analyst is responsible for ensuring timely response to privacy-related incidents and inquiries, overseeing aspects of the company’s data protection programs, and assisting in compliance with various privacy and security accreditation standards where applicable. This position has no direct reports.


Essential Duties And Responsibilities


  • Assist in the development of education and training materials, including articles for newsletters and other communications relating to compliance program activities
  • Assist in managing employee compliance with the organization’s privacy policies, in cooperation with human resources and employees’ supervisors
  • Work with employees involved with the release of protected health information to ensure coordination and compliance with applicable policies and procedures and legal requirements
  • Lead and/or participate in cross-functional teams for process improvement and compliant operations
  • Assess, investigate, and resolve myriad complex privacy incidents and inquiries
  • Establish and maintain excellent working relationships with personnel in other operational areas
  • Manage response to third party authorization requests for access to client data
  • Conduct in-depth risk assessments for all investigations and maintain case files with detailed documentation of all background facts, corrective actions, and supporting compliance activities
  • Maintain current knowledge of applicable federal and state privacy laws and accreditation standards
  • Review business associate agreements, confidentiality agreements, non-disclosure agreements, vendor contracts, and other authorization documents
  • Coordinate activities related to data protection programs and assist with maintaining any applicable accreditation standards (e.g., HITRUST, SOC, URAC, NCQA, PCI, etc.)
  • Collaborate with information security and technology teams to ensure alignment with security and privacy practices
  • Track and analyze data trends and compile results into easily understandable charts, graphs, and presentations; use results to design improved systems, update policies and procedures, and train staff whenever applicable


Requirements


  • An excellent facilitator who is experienced in resolving conflicts between different parties to a dispute
  • Demonstrated knowledge of federal and state privacy and security laws
  • A strategic planner with sound technical skills, analytical ability, good judgment, and strong operational focus
  • Ability to independently identify, research, and resolve issues
  • Strong data analysis and presentation skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in health administration, business, or related field; experience may be acceptable in lieu of a degree
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines with minimal supervision
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and industry related software programs
  • Ability to exercise considerable judgment, maintain confidentiality, and act in a diplomatic manner
  • An intelligent and articulate individual who can relate to people at all levels of an organization and possesses excellent communication skills
  • A decisive individual who possesses a detail-oriented perspective
  • Minimum 3-5 years in healthcare compliance or related area


Preferred Qualifications


  • Experience auditing operational areas
  • Medicare Part D experience
  • Project management experience


The typical starting pay range for this position is between $72,000/year and $103,275/year, although wages can vary based on experience and geography.
