Responsibilities
The incumbent will work closely with the Compliance Officer, Privacy Officer, Site Compliance/Privacy Officers, and other Integrity and Compliance personnel to ensure compliance with Federal and State laws, regulations, standards, and Mayo Clinic policies and procedures. The incumbent will help support compliance and/or privacy initiatives, investigations, remedial actions, and education.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- The position will assume responsibility for managing Medicare, Medicaid, and other government organizational enrollment, and related compliance activities including application processing across Mayo Clinic and Mayo Clinic Health System
- Be a point of contact with state agencies, Medicare, and CMS for organizational enrollment
- Researches and analyzes new and existing Medicare, Medicaid and other government regulations and policies to identify practice strategies and ensure compliance
- Position will interact with administration, physician leadership, legal department, accounting, corporate tax, revenue cycle, compliance office, and other operational personnel throughout Mayo Clinic
- Respond timely and professionally to questions from Mayo Clinic employees and patients related to all aspects of the organization's Integrity and Compliance program including the Code of Conduct, policies and procedures, identification and correction of compliance and/or privacy issues, and potential violations of regulation, law or Mayo Clinic policies
- Consult with business proponents to consider compliance and privacy risks related to organizational initiatives
- Work collaboratively on multi-disciplinary workgroups and projects
- Assist with investigations in response to complaints filed with regulatory agencies
- Assist with implementation of policies and procedures to ensure compliance
- Other functions and projects as assigned
- Some travel may be required to other Mayo Clinic sites and/or training conferences
Qualifications
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required and a minimum of 3 years' experience in compliance, privacy, health care administration, health information management, internal audit, human resources, legal, investigations, information security, or a related field. Experience in healthcare company with knowledge of existing and emerging federal and state requirements relating to compliance and privacy is preferred.
Additional Qualifications:
- Knowledge of integrity and compliance best practices, effectiveness evaluations and resources
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of Federal and State healthcare regulations
- Systems knowledge of EHRs
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment with minimal supervision
- Proficient in Excel, Word, and Power Point
- Ability to maintain highest level of confidentiality
- Healthcare provider/payer experience
- Demonstrated ability to set priorities and to respond to changing demands from multiple sources
- Knowledge in compliance processes
- Effective training and presentation skills
- Ability to follow-through, meet regulatory deadlines, anticipate requirements, and build relationships
- Investigation and audit experience
- Ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups including attorneys, physicians, patients, allied health staff, researchers, and vendors
