Chewy is hiring experienced Software Engineers for our Supply Chain Data Science Framework team. This is a key role on a growing team that’s working to build new services integration frameworks from the ground up. As a result, there is the opportunity for professional growth, creativity, and the ability to help define projects from the very beginning. We’re looking to build frameworks and tools that will help our rapidly growing organization deliver results faster and smarter.

What You’ll Do

• Work with and advise both business and technology teams (internal and external) on how best to implement desired features and enhancements
• Act in the capacity of a software engineer to actively participate in the definition, design, development, testing and implementation of software functionality using the Agile methodology
• Create or modify complex programs, modules, routines, scripts and data objects from a detailed design where efficiency, performance and reliability are critical
• Ensure that technical solutions follow best practices, are reliable, are easily maintainable and are scalable under sustained load
• Create and evolve application documentation as required
• Participate in design and code reviews
• Collaborate to identify, isolate and resolve malfunctions related to software
• Conduct knowledge transition on solutions to the designated application support team(s)
• Operate in compliance with IT standards, policies, procedures, and best practices
• Develop in-depth knowledge of several Chewy business processes and systems environment

What You’ll Need

• Minimum 5+ years of full software development lifecycle experience including the ability to perform independent analysis
• 5+ years of experience working web server technologies
• 5+ years of experience developing applications in web technologies (Java 8, Spring Boot, AWS Technologies/Cloud Migration experience)
• Must be team oriented and have a customer service mindset
• Bachelor's Degree (MIS or CS preferred) or equivalent work experience
• 2+ years experience with Machine Learning and/or Machine Learning Operations
• Position may require travel

Bonus (if Applicable)

• Experience working directly with data science business partners
• Exposure to working in e-commerce
• Experience with Service Oriented Architecture
• 3+ years of experience with RDS, Dynamo Db, S3, SQS, Step Functions
• Experience with any of the following: Java Script, Terraform, Agile/Scrum, open source technologies, responsive application design, continuous integration using Jenkins

Compensation & Benefits

The salary range for this position is $91,000-$183,500. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate’s relevant experience, education, and work location. In addition, this position is eligible for 401k and a new hire and annual equity grant.

Non-exempt hourly team members accrue paid time off (PTO) while salaried-exempt team members have unlimited PTO, subject to manager approval. Non-exempt hourly team members in Fulfillment Centers and Customer Service are also eligible for additional unplanned unpaid time off (UTO). Team members will receive six paid holidays per year. Team members may be eligible for paid sick and family leave in compliance with applicable state and local regulations.
