In addition to empowering knowledge workers, this understanding, along with insights from sensitivity, business context, and relationships between data assets is also being used by teams working under the Chief Data Officers (CDO), the Chief Information and Security Officers (CIO and CISO) and the Chief Risk and Compliance Officers (CRO and CCO) to govern, protect, and manage data more effectively.
We are looking for committed Software Engineers with distributed systems experience to join us as we evolve our state-of-the-art data catalog, sharing, privacy and governance services. You will gain experience building high-scale, low-latency and reliable Azure services that deal with big-data in the cloud. You will get to work on the full stack using the latest technologies and work alongside a team of talented engineers. Responsibilities
This is a great opportunity for you to help us build platform features related to data discovery, search, graphing, scanning, classification, trending and governance for the next generation of the data catalog. Below are some of the responsibilities on this role, come join us on this exciting journey to build an innovative product.

• As a Software Engineer on the platform team, responsible for building core services that enables fundamental features to delight our customers.
• Enable telemetry to learn customer usage patterns and issues. Engage with beta customers to help try the feature and gather feedback for further improvements.
• Empower customers to provision account, scans, explore, annotate and classify their data sets from catalog hosting millions of assets.
• Embrace new tech and frameworks to build modern scalable and secure services that integrate with other partner Azure eco-system.
• Work closely with product manager and designer on the requirements, leverage the inhouse/open-source components to meet the functional needs.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications

• OR equivalent experience.
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline with proven experience coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or GoLang
• Experience with Distributed Services.

Other Requirements
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to, the following specialized security screenings:

• Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Additional Or Preferred Qualifications

• Understanding of data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems
• Experience building and operating online services and fault-tolerant distributed systems.
• Deep passion and empathy for customers.
• Experience using agile methodologies or test-driven development (TDD).
• Experience creating and shipping V1 products using modern development practices.
• Experience building and shipping production grade software or services.
• High enthusiasm, integrity, ingenuity, results-orientation, self-motivation, and resourcefulness in a fast-paced competitive environment.
• Have a deep desire to work collaboratively, solve problems with groups, find win/win solutions and celebrate successes.

Software Engineering IC2 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $76,400 - $151,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $100,300 - $165,400 per year.
Software Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $94,300 - $182,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $120,900 - $198,600 per year.
