Job Summary
The Kentucky Transportation Center (KTC) seeks applicants for a Research Engineer I position in the Pavement, Materials, Geotechnical, and Infrastructure Assessment Group (PMGIA). Prospective applicants should be interested in multidisciplinary transportation research and working on a broad range of topics. The PMGIA Group performs research in several areas for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet. Research foci include pavement design and preservation strategies; roadway forensic analysis; highway drainage assessment; geotechnical investigation; and remote sensing with mobile and stationary LiDAR.
Prospective applicants should have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering, 1 to 2 years research experience in one of the areas listed above, and a licensed Professional Engineer in Kentucky. The Engineer II will perform literature searches and reviews, conduct field and laboratory testing, data collection and analysis, report findings to the research team, and present findings to the client. The Engineer II is expected to help build lasting partnerships with our clients, transportation organizations, and agencies.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
Facility with office softwares and understanding of operational premises of statistical analysis, database management, geographic information systems adn itnernets/intranets.
