Job Description
Overview


Come join Intuit as a Software Engineer 1 on the QuickBooks Online team. You will join an innovative and passionate team of engineers using cutting edge technologies like React, Spring Boot, Kubernetes, AWS, Elastic Search, Kafka, and globally distributed services. We are looking for an engineer with a background in back-end web technologies (Java/Kotlin, Spring, REST services, etc.) You will be working on real time data streams product set and delight our Small Business customers.


What You'll Bring


  • An understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
  • An understanding and preferable experience with web services
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Solid grasp of software engineering fundamentals and their practical application
  • BS/MS in computer science or equivalent work experience
  • 6 months - 1+ years’ experience developing web applications
  • Experience with Agile Development, SCRUM, or Extreme Programming methodologies
  • Experience with Java/J2EE, Spring Boot and Kubernetes
  • An understanding of unit testing & Test-Driven Development (TDD)


How You Will Lead


  • Developing web-based applications and backend services
  • Contribute to the design and architecture of the project
  • Resolve defects/bugs during testing, pre-production, production, and post-release patches
  • Roughly 80-95% hands-on coding
