Software Engineer - Developer Experience

Summary
This role is an excellent opportunity to make a significant impact in a fast-growing healthcare tech company. You will have the chance to shape the developer experience and CICD to aid in improving velocity and simplifying the inner dev loop to help developers execute more efficiently.. Responsibilities

• Develop testing infrastructure to improve application quality.
• Interface with other engineers to gather requirements and design technical solutions to the everyday frictions they face.
• Develop and support CICD pipelines
• Find ways to speed up common development bottlenecks like slow builds, slow tests, or difficult manual testing.
• Create tight feedback loops in the local developer environment
• Write quality internal documentation

90 Day Plan
Within your first 90 days at Virta, you will:

• Build knowledge around our testing, local development, and CI/CD practices.
• Build context around current needs of the engineering teams we support.
• Contribute to, ship and review DevEx features/bug fixes for related offerings.
• Shadow the on-call prior to onboarding as an on-call.
• Familiarize yourself with Virta, its operating structure, and the current pain points of developers.
• Familiarize yourself with the Developer Experience mission and purview.

Must-Haves

• Expertise developing and managing non-trivial services in GoLang.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with team members.
• Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
• Minimum 5 years experience as a software engineer in a professional working environment
• Familiarity with cloud platforms. We use GCP.
• Solid understanding of CI/CD principles and best practices.

Bonus Points

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Expertise developing and managing non-trivial services in Python.
• Previous experience in a DevOps / SRE role
• Familiarity with security best practices

Virta has a location based compensation structure. Starting pay will be based on a number of factors and commensurate with qualifications & experience.
