Mechanical/Nuclear Engineer – 23-026 – San Diego, CA
As a growing Department of Defense Contractor, AUSGAR Technologies has an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical/Nuclear Engineer to join our team of smart and innovative technical team members.
Support of the SSC PAC Radiation Detection, Implementation and Computation (RADIAC) program. A critical element of this program’s success is the integration, interoperability, system improvements and enhancements while improving processes and efficiencies.
Specific Duties and Functions include:
- Assist in update of documentation for system and program technical descriptions.
- Provide support of system engineering and process engineering management and quality assurance requirements for the RADIAC project.
- Support systems and process engineering and provide technical analyses for the research, design, development and modeling for the production, maintenance, engineering changes and modifications and related services for current and future RADIAC systems, subsystems, equipment and components.

- Experience conducting analysis of testing output, which includes the review, evaluation, determination and recommendations of appropriate actions to resolve quality deficiency required.
- Related college work may be credited for years of experience.
- Familiarity with CLYC (Cs2LiYCl6), RaptorX, ANSI N42.42, IEEE 802.x and Subversion (SVN).
- 0-5 years of relevant experience.
- Familiarity with use and analysis of results of Valgrind.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Nuclear Engineering or equivalent.
- Knowledge in the areas of mechanical and nuclear engineering.
- Proficient with software coding in the following languages: C, C++, Java (including JNI and Swing), Android and SQLite.
- Experience conducting research; prototype design; evaluation, prototype, developmental, qualification and Operational Evaluation, testing, product engineering, electronics integration, test fixture design and prototyping, value engineering and systems integration required.
- Experience leading embedded software development on a Radiological Detection program.
- Must possess or be able to obtain a Secret clearance.
Salary range: $70-95K
An essential qualification for this position is successfully obtaining a Secret security clearance issued by the Federal Government, which may require successful completion of a background check.
AUSGAR’s salary range is dependent upon a variety of factors, which include experience, skills, education, certifications and geographical location. Our salary range includes a base salary and excellent benefits package as part of our total compensation.
