Software Engineer Roles and Responsibilities:

·Develops and maintains IT infrastructure for a small company.

·Develops information systems by designing, developing, and installing software solutions.

·Determines operational feasibility by evaluating analysis, problem definition, requirements, solution development, and proposed solutions.

·Develops software solutions by studying information needs, conferring with users, and studying systems flow, data usage, and work processes.

·Documents and demonstrates solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments and clear code.

·Prepares and installs solutions by determining and designing system specifications, standards, and programming.

·Obtains and licenses software by obtaining required information from vendors, recommending purchases, and testing and approving products.

·Protects operations by keeping information confidential.

·Provides information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing development and service issues.

·Accomplishes engineering and organization mission by completing related results as needed.

Required Skills and Experiences:

•B.A./B.S. or M.Sc. or PhD in related fields (Computer Engineering / Science, Electrical Engineering, or similar fields)

•Linux system admin

oSystem installation / setup / maintenance

oPackage update / upgrade / configuration

oBackup / restore / reset

•Network admin

oRouter / firewall setup / configuration

oDomain name hosting / sub-domain

•The ability to program in C/ C++

•Work experience with Python and Java

•The candidate must be able to work in a team environment, or independently, as necessary, and be a self-starter who will attack designs and resolve problems effectively and efficiently.

•Good written and verbal communication skills are required.

•US citizenship or permanent residence (green card holder)

Preferred Skills and Experiences:

·Gitlab / Mattermost server installation / setup / maintenance

·Server hardware building / modification / configuration

·Familiarity with cybersecurity

oProviding solutions to keep the IT infrastructure secure

oReducing cyber risk through the protection of the entire IT infrastructure, including systems, applications, hardware, software, and data.

·The ability to program in MATLAB/Simulink

·Familiarity with embedded coding
