Job Description

Must Haves:

*Must be coming from a Senior leadership role (either VP, SVP, CTO, CIO title).

*Must have managed large teams i.e. 100+ reports.

*Must be coming from .NET environments

*Must not be all product.

*Must be technical - but not hands on


Responsibilities:

  • Oversee teams of software platforms
  • Recruit, develop, and retain talent
  • Ensure staff has necessary skills and capabilities to meet business needs
  • Champion best practices for product engineering initiatives
  • Ensure initiatives achieve business outcomes
  • Provide leadership, vision, and direction for software engineering organization


Requirements:

  • Strong business acumen and focus on business objectives
  • Ability to build and maintain strong cross-functional partnerships at all levels
  • Familiarity with relevant tools and platforms (cloud, web technologies, continuous integration, etc.)
  • Understanding of software development methodologies and best practices
  • 15+ years' experience in leading Software Development and Product Management teams
  • Previous management of global teams, including offshore delivery model
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple priorities under pressure
  • Effective communication of complex technical information to stakeholders
  • Strong talent management skills (talent development, coaching, mentoring, team motivation)
  • Adaptability and ability to manage rapid change in business needs and technologies


Other Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with product management for product roadmaps
  • Ensure software security and risk mitigation
  • Build strong relationships with business leaders to meet expectations and goals
  • Responsible for M&A as required
  • Manage collaboration with Infrastructure and Operations for production performance
  • Collaborate with IT and business leaders on strategic plans
  • Lead global software engineering organization for successful business outcomes
  • Manage performance and productivity across teams
  • Work with offshore teams and determine staffing needs
  • Implement software development status reporting and metrics
  • Set goals for improving code quality, maintainability, security, and scalability
  • Provide vision and direction for the software engineering organization
  • Handle software engineering budget and resource allocations
  • Support innovative and experimental software development work
  • Manage third-party software and development tools
