Job Description
We're Cruise, a self-driving service designed for the cities we love.

We’re building the world’s most advanced self-driving vehicles to safely connect people to the places, things, and experiences they care about. We believe self-driving vehicles will help save lives, reshape cities, give back time in transit, and restore freedom of movement for many.

In our cars, you’re free to be yourself. It’s the same here at Cruise. We’re creating a culture that values the experiences and contributions of all of the unique individuals who collectively make up Cruise, so that every employee can do their best work.

Cruise is committed to building a diverse, equitable, and inclusive environment, both in our workplace and in our products. If you are looking to play a part in making a positive impact in the world by advancing the revolutionary work of self-driving cars, come join us. Even if you might not meet every requirement, we strongly encourage you to apply. You might just be the right candidate for us.

What You’ll Be Doing

The Commercial Operations Technical Program Management team builds operational roadmaps and leads cross-functional programs to safely develop AV technology into scaled and sustainable businesses. Businesses may include ridehail and/or delivery in initial and subsequent markets. In the Senior Technical Program Manager role you will:

  • Communicate progress, opportunities, and risks to key partners and sponsors, including executive leadership
  • Break down functional silos to deliver a seamless customer experience in a complex environment
  • Serve as an interface between the business and technical teams responsible for operational execution and technology readiness to highlight scope, timing, and resourcing risks
  • Hold leadership team and cross-functional peers accountable to deliver on commitments which will benefit the business
  • Build operational program plans and execute them across 10+ functions and external partners to implement Cruise’s commercial products
  • Create frameworks to efficiently and effectively manage programs and initiatives
  • Bring next-level organization to the way we make decisions, execute programs, and evaluate progress

What You Must Have

  • Ability to understand and act on complex, open-ended problems, and to adapt, operate, and thrive under ambiguity
  • Prioritization to keep teams focused on the most impactful work in the short to medium term while not losing sight of the big picture and long-term goals
  • Background in Engineering or other relevant technical field (e.g. operations)
  • Strong communication skills, including a willingness to speak up when there is a timeline, scope, resource, or safety risk
  • The ability to build strong relationships with cross-functional peers and leaders, passionately bring order and organization to any team, and quickly identify resources and motivate colleagues without acting as a direct authority figure
  • Proven experience in project or program management roles and at least one operations or business oriented role

Bonus points!

  • Work experience at start-up and established companies
  • Bringing a company’s product to market at a large scale
  • A go-to-market or operations program management role
  • Working on a ridehail or delivery program

The salary range for this position is $139,000 - $204,300. Compensation will vary depending on location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. You may also be offered a bonus, restricted stock units, and benefits. These ranges are subject to change.
