Role Summary:
As a Senior Program Manager – Early Research, you will play a crucial role in strategically enabling the development of medicines through program management best practices. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams, partnering with Therapeutic Area Team Leads and driving cohesive leadership to ensure the successful execution of program objectives. In this role, you will have the chance to shape the trajectory of groundbreaking therapies that impact the communities we serve.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Planning: Collaborate with Therapeutic Area Team Leads to align partner teams and functions to the overarching program strategy. Provide guidance on governance, issue escalation, and early stage decision-making. Facilitate the development of program strategic deliverables.
- Operational Execution: Manage program timelines, budgets, and resources. Oversee the execution of program-level scenario planning initiatives. Develop and maintain program-level timelines, ensuring efficient team function and achievement of milestones.
- Stakeholder Management and Communication: Foster a collaborative culture across teams by aligning objectives, plans, and timelines. Facilitate team meetings, communication, and reporting. Lead the PRIME team and Tiger Teams as needed.
- Issues, Risk, and Decision Management: Proactively manage risks and mitigations. Address interdependencies and key decisions that impact cross-functional teams or programs.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 8 years relevant experience, including 5 years in a project management role. PMP or comparable certification is a plus. Industry, project management, or academia experience required.
- Education: Ph.D., Masters, or BA/BS (with at least 3 years of experience in a research organization) in a relevant scientific field.
- Competencies: Demonstrated agility, leadership, and effective communication. Strong project management skills and understanding of product development lifecycle. Ability to ask relevant questions about product and therapeutic modalities.
