Karthik Iyer is the President and CEO guiding the growth strategy for the business.

He believes in the power of passionate people forming winning teams. Iyer joined Simple Tire in 2020 as President to accelerate the growth strategy and has successfully doubled the team and grown revenue over 40%. Prior to SimpleTire, Karthik served as a VP of a high growth technology company, CMO for a software startup, senior leader in a $60Bn global ecommerce and technology company. His experience spans powerful global brands such as Dell and Reckitt Benckiser, and includes innovation leaders in their categories such as Dyson.

Position Overview

The Senior Project Manager, a fully remote position, will report directly to the SVP, Technology and plays a critical role in directing and monitoring the work of project team members to ensure that projects are completed on time. They will work closely with teams across the organization in the creation of detailed project estimates and ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget. The Senior Project Manager will oversee a team of experienced cross functional Project Managers and Scrum Masters composed of both internal and offshore resources.

Essential job functions:

Managing Projects and Teams

• Review, track and drive progress on the various “open tickets”, and validate the same for other project management resources assigned
• Strategic placement and performance reporting of project management resources
• Work closely with technology resources to track/prioritize incoming requests
• Support the technical and cross-functional teams by managing multiple small and large projects simultaneously
• Deliver projects and sprints on time, with high quality and within budget
• Communicate expectations for handling deliverables, risks, milestones and achievements through the organization
• Interact closely with the development resources
• Plan for other resources and development teams as needed
• Oversee Scrum Master(s) and projects being managed by direct reports for quality and center of excellence standards
• Maintain a clear understanding and ability to implement and manage traceability throughout a document and software development lifecycle
• Interact with and present to team members at all levels of the organization
• Manage and course correct as needed projects with technical and/or stakeholder complexities

Leadership, Mentoring, and Coaching

• Actively address non-performing personnel
• Ability to strategize and drive the expansion of the technical PM team into a company wide PMO
• Provide both technical and managerial advice, make decisions and provide recommendations for effective and efficient information technology delivery of commitments
• Lead, plan, organize, delegate, track and report on project and tech deliverables, including internal and vendor facing relationships
• Manage resources and their workload while maintaining high employee satisfaction and motivation
• Improve on high and low performers alike
• Facilitate problem solving and collaboration.

Qualifications

Minimum Job Requirements

• Bilingual is a plus
• Certification in project management is a plus
• Experienced in creating thorough and easy to understand project documentation including project schedules, tasks, and dependencies
• Experienced understanding of prevailing project management methodologies, including agile, scrum, waterfall, lean, or kanban
• Automotive industry experience is a plus
• Keen familiarity with metrics used to evaluate project performance (planned value, earned value, actual cost, schedule/cost variance, schedule/cost performance index, etc.)
• Bachelor's degree in relevant major, or equivalent work experience
• 10+ years of experience in project management required, with a high preference in managing full lifecycle development, infrastructure, and systems projects
• Experienced knowledge of project management tools including JIRA, Smartsheets, monday, HubSpot, miro, ClickUp, Confluence, MS Project or similar

Working Conditions and Physical Effort
