JOB DESCRIPTION OVERVIEW:


The Gender Point is a collaboration between the Women’s Funding Network and the Institute for Women’s Policy Research. The project provides on-going support and original research to Women’s Funding Network members on a range of economic and social indicators at the state and federal levels, as well as produce high-quality research reports and briefs to better understand the impact of Women’s Funds on the economic security and well-being of women, their families, and communities.


The Senior Project Manager, Gender Point is responsible for managing the project and serving as the primary liaison to the Women’s Funding Network and its members. They will manage and fulfil rapid research requests, produce high-level evidence-based briefs and reports; conduct webinars and identify opportunities to engage WFN member centers; and work across departments to ensure the success of the project. They will also write and submit progress reports for the project.


The ideal candidate is a dynamic, forward-thinking, experienced, and collaborative leader. They possess deep knowledge and experience working on issues related to building women’s long-term economic security and well-being. They also have experience with translating high-level research for broad audiences through blogs, reports, briefing papers, or other similar mediums.

For this position, candidates must have demonstrated working experience with statistical programs such as STATA, SPSS or other related programs. They should also be familiar with major national databases and be able to interpret data, analyze results, acquire data from primary or secondary sources, and filter and clean data.


Duties and Responsibilities:


Research Strategy, Vision, and Leadership


  • Identify and assess emerging research gaps in the field and potential innovations and opportunities for IWPR.
  • Work in partnership with Policy Department staff to support policy campaigns and efforts on Gender Point related issues and priorities.
  • Work in partnership with Program Directors to develop a strategic vision for Gender Point and the relationship with the Women’s Funding Network.


Research Experience


  • Ability to conduct and draft literature reviews, and write high quality working papers, briefs, fact sheets, blog posts, reports and presentations based on the data work and analysis;
  • Use and integrate racial equity and intersectional frameworks and analysis in research study designs, written reports, and briefs;
  • Ability to perform quantitative and qualitative data analysis of large datasets and trends, utilizing network science and/or other statistical methods, including creating data visuals; and conducting interviews and focus groups;
  • Guide publications through fact-checking, review, design, and release processes; and
  • Manage and fulfil rapid research requests and respond to technical assistance needs of WFN member Funds and the Women’s Funding Network;
  • Familiarity and experience conducting research and/or policy analysis on issues related to women’s economic security and well-being, educational and employment outcomes for women, and civic engagement and political participation.


Program Management Experience:


  • Supervise project assistants and interns, and coordinate with other senior researchers;
  • Represent IWPR at related conferences and meetings.
  • Manage relationship with the Women’s Funding Network and WFN member Funds, including grant reporting, adherence to grant requirements, administrative tasks, and technical support and assistance as needed;
  • Strong program and project management skills, and ability to manage multiple deadlines and competing demands;
  • Work with IWPR’s communications department to maintain and update
  • Organize meetings, webinars and symposia on topics related to the project and IWPR research for WFN member Funds; and


Fundraising and Resource Management


  • Work in partnership with the Managing Director to nurture and maintain the funding relationship with the Women’s Funding Network; and
  • Produce grant reports and help manage project budgets, as necessary.

Education And Experience


Master’s Degree preferred, with three years of experience managing high-level projects and programs, in a related field (e.g., women’s studies, economics, sociology, political science, public policy, law etc.)


SALARY


This is an on-site, full-time exempt position. The salary for the Senior Project Manager, Gender Point Project is $72,000 – $102,000 per year. The salary will be commensurate with experience.
