Job Description
OUR ORGANIZATION

Coro is New York’s premier leadership training organization and a community of 3,500+ alumni across business, government, schools, and nonprofits that are shaping the future of our city. For nearly 40 years Coro has used the city as its classroom, teaching students and executives, activists, and entrepreneurs how New York works so that we can all make it better.

Coro training helps individuals hone their visions for change and learn how to exercise leadership more strategically and with greater self-awareness. Coro runs five multi-month adult training programs: Leadership New York, the Fellows Public Affairs Program, Neighborhood Leadership Program, Immigrant Civic Leadership Program, and the Workforce Systems Leadership Program. Coro trains selected candidates from all parts of New York City to take and enhance their leadership roles in neighborhoods and organizations.

We support leaders, both seasoned and emerging, to increase their ability to collaborate across differences, build culture and community, and make progress on shared challenges.

At Coro, We Value

  • Inclusion: Coro is inclusive of diverse perspectives and creates opportunities for those with differing views to not only be seen and heard, but have a seat at the table.
  • Community: The city is at the center of our thinking, we explore the positive and negative effects of our actions, and how they impact the rich mosaic of our city.
  • Equity: To behave in a way that is not only fair, but to ensure that our actions and ideas create equitable outcomes that do not disadvantage one community vs another.
  • Diversity: Coro believes in empowering leaders of diverse and varying backgrounds, which is demonstrated by our programs as well as the city we seek to impact. We identify opportunities to include, celebrate and champion this diversity, because we believe in creating a city and democracy that reflect this.
  • Empathy: We lead with empathy for each other, our stakeholders, and the society we serve. We actively engage diverse stakeholders to understand their point of view and make decisions that are reflective, inclusive and thoughtful of others.

Coro is an equal opportunity employer and committed to creating a diverse work environment that reflects the richness of New York City and the participants we serve. In this spirit, we strongly encourage people of diverse backgrounds including, but not limited to, race, gender, age, socioeconomic status, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, and differently-abled to apply.
