Purpose
Has the overall responsibility of managing the major generation construction projects, economically installed new generation, development of renewable generation, and large environmental compliance projects to ensure quality of construction, accurate budgeting, schedule adherence, and implementing cost controls. Provide technical and management support through recommendation and implementation of projects for Electric Operations. Duties include negotiation of contracts, oversight in reviewing contracts, procurement, construction, and ongoing operations and maintenance to ensure that Liberty’s interests are being met. Provide management and advice to a team of professionals to support the renewable and compliance goals of the department and company.

  • The ability to identify and implement the actions required to achieve the company’s strategy. Ability to work toward an arrangement or business deal while obtaining a favorable consideration for the company.
  • Can organize thoughts and ideas, and effectively express them orally or in writing. Must function as critical link to other companies and external resources.
  • Ability to institute programs, policies, and products as a result of a project or strategic plan.
  • Apply broad technical knowledge in both electrical and mechanical disciplines in planning and implementing major strategic projects in evaluating alternative capacity options to mee the requirements of the company’s customers. Implement best practices and latest methods in project management.
Education and Experience
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience and Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, with experience in electric utility construction and project management
  • Prefer Professional Engineer License, or ability to obtain.
  • A thorough understanding of the principles, purpose and operation of utility electrical and mechanical equipment and a practical knowledge of substation operation.
  • A valid driver's license
