Senior It Security Project Manager

• Manages escalations and conflicts effectively and efficiently.
• Supports SRC project roadmap planning with stakeholders.
• Collaborates with stakeholders to define resource requirements, procure resources, ensuring resource availability for new projects.
• Liaises and interacts with senior managers, up to VP-level, where necessary.
• Performs early detection of troubled projects and facilitates corrective plans.
• Ensures accurate forecasting of project spend.
• Monitors and manages the progress and health of projects.
• Takes responsibility for the detailed and accurate management of project financials.
• Orchestrates activities in partnership with SRC Technical Leads and Business Leads to ensure successful start of new projects.
• Monitors and manages the performance of key vendors and partners.
• Takes responsibility for detailed planning and accurate project status monitoring.
• Represents projects at steering committee meetings.
• Optimizes the use of internal and external resources.
• Manages the expectations of stakeholders with integrity and honesty.
• Identifies and executes initiatives to improve the performance of project deliveries within SRC.
• Ensures risks and issues are managed and reported early and adequately.
• Ensures adherence to Gilead IT’s processes and procedures.
• Supports the introduction of methodologies that are new to SRC, such as Agile, SAFe or Six Sigma.
• Intervenes early and effectively to address project issues.
• Takes full responsibility for the delivery of two to four concurrent projects.
• Ensures adherence to Gilead IT’s project management and software lifecycle methodologies.

• High level understanding of IT security tools and systems is beneficial.
• 10+ years of hands-on full-time project management experience in IT is essential.
• Proven track record in managing and delivering large, complex, cross-functional projects.
• Experience in the Life Sciences/Pharma/Medical Devices/Healthcare industries is highly beneficial.
• Qualifications and certifications such as PMP, Agile, SAFe, Six Sigma Certifications are beneficial.
• Solid experience in the management of senior stakeholders up to VP-level is essential.
• Experience in mentoring and developing team members.
• Proven ability to manage project teams of up to 40 team members.
• Attention to detail and inquisitive mindset.
• 3+ years of hands-on full-time project management experience within IT Security is essential.
• Solid experience in the management of Managed Services partners and key vendors is essential.
• Expertise in project and program management methodologies, tools and techniques.
• Experience in conduction RFPs and vendor selection activities.
• Ability to deliver in ambiguous environments.
• Solid experience in the financial management of projects is essential.
• Strong interpersonal skills are essential.
• Proven ability to work with dispersed and global teams.
• Experience in the creation and review of contractual documents such as work orders, statements of work is essential.
• Experience in the delivery of GxP and SOX projects is highly beneficial.
• Experience in the procurement of hardware, software and professional services.
• Strong verbal and written communications are essential.

The salary range for this position is: $149,600.00 - $193,600.00. Gilead considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package.
