Position Summary

The Senior Director, Engineering provides leadership and direction through direct reports and builds and leads a culture of accountability to meet business objectives and goals. This leader will relentlessly focus on delivering predictable, high-quality software products in a collaborative and iterative manner. This position is responsible for directing and performance of a product group(s) with multiple agile teams across the Engineering organization.

Deliverables and Performance Measures:

Delivery MetricsCycle time measures the time it takes for a user story or feature to move from the beginning of the development process to completion. It reflects the efficiency of the development cycle and helps identify bottlenecks.
Velocity is a measure of the amount of work a team can complete within a given time frame, such as a sprint. It provides insights into the team's productivity and helps with capacity planning and forecasting.
Prioritize delivering high-quality software. Key quality metrics include defect density, defect escape rate, and customer-reported issues. These metrics help evaluate the effectiveness of testing and quality assurance practices.

Customer Experience ImprovementsCustomer satisfaction is a crucial success factor for agile companies. It can be measured through customer feedback, surveys, and Net Promoter Score (NPS). Regularly collecting and analyzing customer feedback helps identify areas for improvement and ensures that the software meets customer expectations.
Be adaptable and responsive to changing customer needs and market dynamics. The ability to quickly react to changes, adjust priorities, and deliver incremental value is a critical success factor.
Delivering tangible business value. It's important to track the value delivered to customers, which can be measured through metrics such as revenue growth, customer acquisition, customer retention, and return on investment (ROI).
Lead time measures the time it takes for a customer request or user story to be completed from the point of initiation. Reducing lead time improves customer satisfaction and time-to-market.

Other Performance MeasuresOversees and supervises product group teams, assuming people management responsibilities such as staffing, managing direct reports and team members, setting performance objectives, conducting annual performance reviews, and recommending pay actions.
Develops and coaches staff members, fosters a positive work environment, and mentors and cultivates product and team leaders.
Leads and manages the technical activities of multiple complex software development projects.
Drives adherence to existing processes and defines new and improved processes within the groups.
Motivates teams to solve problems and deliver high-quality results.
Collaborates with other senior-level managers to establish strategic plans and objectives, providing end-to-end governance.
Manages stakeholder relationships across the business group and the company.
Performs risk and dependency management across the engineering organization.
Oversees resource planning activities, aligns work and resources with the organization's strategy, and integrates across boundaries as necessary.
Ensures the product group delivers software within accepted quality standards by facilitating a working "definition of done" (DoD) for Agile stories within each group.

Expected hours of Work:

This is a full-time position with regular office hours Monday through Friday. This position may work with the India office a few days a week and will require an earlier start to the day around 6:30MT. This position may require after work hours and occasional weekends, depending on work demands.
