Job Description

McKesson's Medical-Surgical Business Unit is seeking a Senior Director of Strategy and Product Management for our Consumer Markets Team. This is a key position in our fast-growing consumer segment, responsible for driving our strategy and overseeing product management within our Ecommerce retailing business. This role requires a combination of leadership, strategic thinking, business acumen, and strong product management expertise to lead our team of Product and Strategy Managers in developing the next phase capabilities and growth for the business.


The ideal candidate will have a background within the Ecommerce Retail environment and/or the healthcare industry, along with a strong knowledge of online business development and current market dynamics. They should have a demonstrable track record of translating strategy into concrete execution by partnering with business leaders, technology, data science teams and finance to build a roadmap for sustainable growth.


Overall, the Senior Director of Strategy and Product Management plays a critical role in shaping the business's strategic direction, driving product innovation, and ensuring effective execution to achieve business objectives.


Responsibilities:

  • Innovation and New Initiatives: Drive innovation initiatives and explore emerging technologies and trends that could enhance the company's product offerings and competitive advantage. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and encourage creative thinking within the organization
  • Team Leadership: Build and develop a high-performing strategy and product management team. Provide mentorship, guidance, and professional development opportunities to foster individual growth and collective success
  • Financial Review: Partnering with Finance to develop ongoing tangible business case and product investment portfolio
  • Business Development: Partner with senior leaders and executives on overall business growth and planning
  • Performance Measurement: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to assess the effectiveness of product strategies and initiatives. Regularly track and report progress to senior leadership, identifying areas for improvement and making data-driven recommendations
  • Stakeholder Management: Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including executives, customers, partners, and industry influencers. Cultivate strong relationships and act as a trusted advisor, representing the company's strategic vision and product roadmap
  • Strategic Planning: Maintain our strategic planning process including both long-range and short-range strategic planning and reporting
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate potential risks and challenges that may impact product development and strategic initiatives. Develop contingency plans and adapt strategies as necessary to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Product Planning: Lead a team in partnership with Business, Technology and Data Science teams to drive a product roadmap to deliver on strategic growth initiatives
  • ECommerce Expertise: Stay up-to-date with industry trends, competitive landscapes, and regulatory changes related to the company's products and markets. Understand the Marketplace and Omni Channel environment and what is needed to succeed
  • Data Driven Insights: Translate Data Models and Insights into tangible business actions
  • Market Analysis: Conduct comprehensive market research and analysis to identify new growth opportunities, competitive trends, and customer needs. Translate market insights into actionable strategies to enhance the company's product portfolio and market positioning
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams such as engineering, marketing, sales, and operations to ensure effective product delivery and go-to-market strategies. Foster strong relationships to enable seamless execution and alignment with organizational goals
  • Product Management: Lead the product management function, including product planning, development, and lifecycle management. Drive product strategy, roadmaps, and prioritization to deliver innovative and market-leading products


Requirements:

  • 5+ years of strategy and product management experience, ideally in Ecommerce
  • Experience in Business Acquisition Target assessment and Strategic LRP a must
  • Must be authorized to work in the US. Sponsorship is not available for this position
  • 12+ years of relevant post graduate business experience with a proven record around delivery
  • MBA or Masters degree in a relevant field
  • 4+ years of team management experience
