This Global consumer product company serves as a giant hub between thousands of suppliers and customers with an impressive IT backend powering it all! Employing over 5,000 worldwide and a history dating back nearly 100 years, they are consistently working towards improving their product offering and how to best deliver it to customers!
They are searching for a Sr. Development Manager (back office solutions) to join them immediately to partner with Global leadership in business and IT initiatives. This manager will lead Back Office solutions and inherit a portfolio of new and existing projects revolving around ERP systems. This is role does not require development ability.
This company's office is located Downtown Chicago near Union Station and requires occasional onsite attendance for stakeholder collaboration meetings and visibility.
Principal Responsibilities:
· Lead delivery of projects involving applications supporting our ERP system (OTC, P2P, Finance, Supply Chain and Logistics) and associated ecosystems
· Must have experience working within an SAP environment, managing migration efforts from legacy system to SAP
· Manage functional and technical architecture analysis, research, design and development of new functionality and integration with key applications and services under ERP system and associated ecosystems
· Manage matrix a team consisting of internal and external resources
· Drive business system development, integration, data migration and conversions
· Hold self and others accountable to the committed deadlines and ensure successful deliverables
· Take an active role in the development of other team members
· Engage with leading customers and strategic partners to identify and validate requirements and translate to successful solution design and delivery
· Lead team in driving and delivering customer solutions
· Performing and supporting integration architecture and infrastructure design activities
· Participating in resolving system issues including technology integration problems
· Act as a mentor, coach, and identify training to team members by facilitating the sharing of solution and technical expertise.
Required Experience:
· Thorough understanding of the project lifecycle from requirements Definition through Post Implementation Support
· Experience in leading teams in designing and building ERP applications
· Experience in leading teams supporting ERP systems
· Excellent customer and stakeholder management skills
· Able to report both verbally and in writing to executive level
· Must be approachable and have excellent interpersonal skills both remotely and in person.
· Proven ability to be flexible and work hard, both independently and in a team environment, adapt easily and handle crisis situations
· Be ambitious and strive for continuous improvement, both for the team, and personally
· Methodical, analytical, and conscientious approach, particularly regarding customer service.
· At ease working under pressure to cost and time deadlines
· Flexible approach – the position will occasionally be required to provide on-call support
· Must have expertise in delivering solutions with end-end process in view cutting across complex landscape
· Experience in collaboration in a matrix-managed environment, and across multiple and diverse groups
· Demonstrated ability to understand deal strategy and drivers, translate business needs into requirements, develop proposed solutions, and deliver high impact change initiatives
· Ability to assess and manage technical risks and issues
Desirable Criteria:
· Previous experience supporting WMS and hybrid warehouse environments
· OTC, P2P, Finance, Supply Chain and Logistics
· Experience with E-Commerce environment
· Technical understanding of IBM iSeries systems
· Previous experience of the understanding of system-to-system integration
