Currently, we are looking for a Senior Manager, Business Development - Chicago to join the ArcBest team. The Senior Manager, Business Development manages the strategy and performance of the sales branch, while overseeing operations required to support organizational goals, drive revenue growth, and new customer acquisition. This position maximizes the performance of sales leaders, while creating organizational structure that enables long-term, scalable growth across both the small to midsize and middle-market business segments.
Your Contribution May Include
- Lead sales efforts focused on new customer acquisition.
- Develop leaders by creating and executing individual development plans.
- Collaborate with Vice President, Business Development to create and implement sales strategies to achieve long term growth while meeting Company objectives.
- Remain accountable for overall growth and health of branch sales departments.
- Develop and maintain high level customer relationships with key customers.
- Improve employee engagement.
- Drive seller and manager accountability through KPI and detailed performance management expectations.
- Build and maintain strong interdepartmental relationships.
- Other duties and projects, as assigned.
As a Senior Manager, Business Development - Chicago, you will be a member of the ArcBest Business Development team in Fort Smith, AR. Your hours will be Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm, with irregular hours that may occur depending on workload.

Education
- Bachelor's Degree, preferred
Experience
- 2 years managing a supply chain / transportation sales team
Computer Skills
- Proficient in CRM, Power BI, Excel
Additional Requirements
- Ability to work within a team and independently
- Demonstrated sales abilities and understanding of market trends
- Clear, effective, and professional communication skills
- Confident decision-making, problem solving, relationship building, and issue resolution skills
