The Billing Analyst interprets contract terms and performs data entry into various billing systems to generate monthly invoices. Responsibilities include designing, implementing, and maintaining processes to perform automated and manual billing. The Billing Analyst must work individually and as part of a team to research billing related questions/issues by using a variety of analytical and reporting tools. Additional responsibilities include participation in continual process improvement efforts to increase efficiency of customer billing.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Enter / update the billing set-up related to contract terms
- Support various projects and initiatives throughout multiple Contract Operations organizations
- Create and maintain billing processes for contract terms not compatible with automated billing system functionality and process corresponding invoices using various software applications
- Interpret customer contract terms to determine the most appropriate billing method
- Generate standardized and ad hoc revenue reporting as needed
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
- Improve the quality and efficiency of the billing processes
- Research billing issues using a variety of analytical and reporting tools
- Generate invoices according to contractual requirements
- Review and preparation of balance sheet variance analysis
- Support monthly and annual procedures including reporting, month-end close and SOX compliance functions

Required Qualifications:
- 4+ years related field of study (Billing) and/or equivalent related experience
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in MS Excel
- Bachelor’s degree, or the equivalent combination of education and work experience
- Proven willingness and availability to work to meet deadline driven billing cycles
- PC/software application skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proven detail-oriented with strong organizational and analytic skills
- Demonstrated goal-driven with the ability to work independently under minimal supervision
- Oracle and SQL experience
- Proven ability to work collaboratively with others in a team-oriented environment
- Proven solid communication skills
- Proven ability to prioritize multiple tasks and perform them both accurately and timely in order to meet weekly and monthly deadlines

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
