Position Overview


We are seeking an experienced Billing/Operations Analyst who is independent, purposeful, initiative-taking and wants to be part of a Dynamic Organization. Working in a team environment, this individual will develop the strategy to ensure seamless processing with 100% accuracy of daily billing, payment processing and transactions. The ideal candidate will have experience in the deregulated retail electricity space with a strong focus on Complex Billing and Transaction Management.


The location of this position is Houston, and we are seeking an ideal candidate who resides within a commutable distance from our Houston office.


Primary Responsibilities


  • Develop and maintain policies, continuing education and process documentation for Billing and Transaction Management.
  • Assist in gathering requirements and QA testing for new development on projects designed to improve billing, customer experience and reporting.
  • Responsible for identification and advanced communication to customers related to charges outside of normal tolerance.
  • Establish controls to bridge identified gaps across business units.
  • Support finance with month end close, and other critical tasks, as necessary.
  • Assist with project planning, testing and implementation of automated processes to support data and analysis.
  • Take the lead when changes and proposed regulations occur to understand potential gaps to current processes and formulate solutions to comply.
  • Achieve excellence by delivering on key performance indicators (KPI’s).
  • Develop and implement controls/reporting often starting with a non-standard and manual pilot; then upon commensurate success, developing and implementing into an automated documented process.
  • Adhere to Retail Market Guide protocols as set forth by ERCOT.
  • Responsible for day-to-day production analysis of billing, product, and transaction management.
  • Perform other ad hoc analysis as required.
  • Function as a resolute customer contact to research, analyze, and resolve billing discrepancies.
  • Proactively identify and resolve existing and potential future billing and account issues in a timely and accurate fashion by displaying acute diligence.
  • Create and define processes to measure billing accuracy, timeliness, and success for custom products.
  • Coordinate with utilities and market participants to investigate and resolve escalated customer concerns such as missing consumptions, usage variance etc.
  • Manage and adhere to compliance protocols as outlined by the Public Utility Commissions.
  • Coordinate and work directly with cross functional teams to analyze and adjust processes and functionality to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
