Position: Scientist/Senior Scientist, Biology
Reporting To: Sr. Scientist II
Position Objective
Nitto BioPharma, Inc. is a biopharmaceutical company focused on the discovery and development of novel RNA-based therapeutics for intractable diseases. As part of a talented and multi-disciplinary team advancing an exciting and novel approach to drug delivery, we are currently seeking a highly motivated and independent scientist with a strong background in the field of cellular and molecular biology to join the team. By using a variety of molecular and cell biological approaches you will contribute to the mechanistic understanding of therapeutic delivery, antibody drug conjugates, assay development, and the progression from discovery to preclinical/clinical testing.
Major Job Functions

• Collect, document, analyze, and interpret data.
• Perform cell-level characterization of in vitro and in vivo drug delivery using flow cytometry and histochemical approaches.
• Contribute to the development, execution, and technology transfer of assay development to other internal and external teammates.
• Develop robust in vitro biological assays to evaluate drug in vitro/in vivo efficacy, supporting early research needs.
• Efficiently manage and maintain laboratory equipment and tools.
• Independently and effectively design, perform, and interpret complex experiments to validate drug product activity, screen for novel therapeutics and characterize hits under the leadership of the team head.
• Analyze and communicate results during department/project meetings.
• Support the development and production of therapeutic antibody for conjugation.
• Work closely with a multidisciplinary team.

Education, Licensure And/or Experience

• Ability to work effectively with others in a dynamic environment..
• Ph.D in Biology/Chemistry or related discipline with 0-2 years of industry experience, or MS in Biology/Chemistry or related discipline with 2-5 years of industry experience; experience supporting ADC projects in early research preferred. Exact title depends on experience.
• Excellent communication and technical writing skills.
• Ability to self-motivate, multi-task, and meet tight deadlines
• Working experience on in vivo animal models, drug PK and PD evaluation is preferred.
• Organized and disciplined record keeping.
• Hands-on experience on in vitro cellular assay development, IHC, FACS, et al, histology knowledge is preferred.
• Proficiency and hands-on experience in applying a wide range of cellular and molecular biological methods (siRNA, q-PCR, Western blotting, cell culture, cell viability assays, IHC, flow cytometry).

Physical Job Requirements
Office/Lab environment. Lifting up to 20 pounds may be required. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use their hands and fingers to operate laboratory equipment, a computer keyboard, mouse, and telephone keypad or to write, as well as talk and hear. They are required to stand, walk or sit, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to focus.
