Summary About the Position: This position is located at the Maxwell Elementary/Middle School with the Department of Defense Education Activity, Americas Southeast District, at Maxwell AFB, Alabama. Responsibilities Utilize supply and logistic support systems for standard requisitioning, stock, storing, records and issuing procedures. Verify and record serial numbers upon receipt of goods, bar codes items. Assure school support requirements are prepared, edited, and submitted to the Area Director's office for the purchase of supplies and equipment. Serve as property custodian maintaining a perpetual inventory of non-expendable property and supply records for durable items in the school. Assist in monitoring the school safety and security programs to ensure compliance with program requirements of DoDEA and the supporting military installation. Assist Area and District personnel with physical security inspections to ensure adequate security measures are in place and adhered to. Assure all supply transactions are recorded in an automated system and that copies of documents are file appropriately to maintain an adequate automated and hard-copy audit trail. Set or revise stock levels for authorized items available through the supply system. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Who May Apply: U.S. Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes maintaining inventory records; ordering and tracking supplies; utilizing supply automated systems to record transactions; and managing a purchase card program. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
