Channel Director- Industrial DivisionAn opportunity to join an industry leader experiencing explosive growth and opportunities. DiVal Safety has been recognized as The Best Place to Work in WNY for the past 15 years.DiVal Safety Equipment, a leader in the Fire, EMS and industrial safety equipment distribution business, is looking for a self-motivated individual that works well as part of a team to grow the division, while reporting directly to the Vice President of Sales located at our headquarters in Buffalo, NY. In this position you will be responsible for the sales performance of the Industrial Division, and regional channel managers, as well as executing and advancing through the components or the Managers Sales Curve. In addition to the wide range of products we carry, we also test, service and repair many of the products we supply. The position comes with a base salary plus commission, expenses and car allowance.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret basic sales reports
  • Comprehensive sales training and onboarding process
  • Occasional overnight travel Physical Demands:
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable vehicle record
  • Focus on the horizontal growth and lost business within accounts.

  • A main focus should be the channel’s future 2-3 year plans and goals
  • Have a relationship with C-Suite level executives and plant managers for the channel income accounts

  • A majority of your time will be spent on customer facing projects
  • Conduct regularly scheduled meetings with each territory under the regional manager
  • Have a firm understanding of the competitive situation within your accounts, and within your territory
  • Have a firm understanding of the competing situation within your channels locally and nationally.
  • Perform annual reviews for all direct reports Professional Skills and Requirements:
  • Manage all direct reports using metric based analytics (budget to goal, margin, pipeline, and closing)
  • Identify new value driven products for your customers

  • Work with territories field managers and regional channel managers to create relationships with key accounts at the highest levels
  • Based on salary plus commission
  • Direct account maintenance (pricing, delivery, & inventory) in Channel income accounts
  • Demonstrates mastery of skills in the areas of consultative selling, marketing principles, prospecting, coaching, networking and negotiations.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds when required
  • Well-versed in basic math
  • Communicate job expectations, continually monitoring employees and providing feedback and training opportunities, and when necessary disciplinary actions up to and including terminations.
  • Ability to acquire a functional knowledge of a variety of computer programs
