Responsibilities Of The Clinical Educator

• Under the general direction of the Director of Clinical Education, the Clinical Educator works in collaboration with the Vice President of Patient Care Services and directors to meet the educational needs of the staff.
• The Clinical Educator is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating education programs which facilitate the competence of hospital staff within their specific departments.
• Is responsible for developing a process or processes designed to ensure that all individuals are competent as appropriate to the ages of the populations served.

Minimum Requirements Of The Clinical RN Educator

• To perform this job successfully, an individual must have demonstrated skill in assessing educational needs, the preparation and presentation of in-service or patient educational programs and evaluating educational programs' effectiveness.
• Must have proficient computer skills as demonstrated using an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) System for patient documentation and Windows Office software (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), and be familiar with Internet search applications.
• Must be a Registered Nurse with a BSN.
• 5+ years of clinical experience in the acute care setting, 2+ years as an educator. MSN to be obtained within 3 years.
