Position Summary
Coordinates, plans and manages the administrative and operational functions of the research funtions and initiatives within the department. This role may also assist in developing vision and strategic planning for research and grant funding.
Job Responsibilities
- Supervises staff and oversees activities related to IRB submissions, research study recruitment, literature reviews, data analysis and other administrative tasks.
- If applicable, manages the administrative and operational aspects of T32 training grants, including the onboarding of new trainees; coordinating schedules/meetings; preparing/completing evaluation materials and preparing/submitting progress reports.
- Manages all administrative, operational, dissemination of activities and reporting relating to department-specific research projects. Assists investigators with grant applications and progress reports as needed.
- Performs data management activities, which may include maintaining and updating computerized databases, creating forms, conducting database searches and creating reports
- Oversees and coordinates research related conferences and events.
- Ensures research resources and needs, including appropriate financial and human resource support for all projects, are addressed and available. May assist in research design as needed.
- Is cognizant of, and supports, emerging research needs. Assists in the improvement and enhancement of policies relating to human subjects research.
- Assists with pre- and post-award functions for grants, including development of budgets, monitoring of annual expenses and drafting and management of subawards.
- May need to facilitate site visits/audits and coordinate responses to results of such.
- Facilitates connections between internal and external investigators on research protocols as needed.
Education
- Bachelor's Degree
Experience
Master's degree is preferrred.
Approximately 3 years of related research work experience.
Strong MS office knowledge.
Previous experience working with REDCap is desired.
Supervisory experience desired.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Demonstrated supervisory experience.
- Detail-oriented and excellent organizational skills.
- Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office Suite and database applications.
- Demonstrated strong communication and interpersonal skills; demonstrated ability to interact with multiple constituencies and exercise "people skills".
- Demonstrated critical thinking and analytical skills.
