We are seeking a candidate that will hit the ground running in research and development, with a focus on sustaining engineering as a Research & Development Engineer I. Responsibilities will include design verification activities, product complaint investigations, packaging design, shelf-life improvements, and more. The candidate must have an education in an engineering field and/or material science, with strong analytical skills, effective communication skills, strong documentation skills, and a passion for hands-on problem solving. Although the candidate will be involved in all aspects of medical device research and development, the primary focus will be on supporting design changes to our existing product lines throughout their life cycles. The ideal candidate individual will have a broad range of technical skills and knowledge in the fields of engineering, manufacturing, product development, medical device design, product assembly, project management, and be self-motivated and thrive working in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment.


What will you be doing?


  • Specify, source and procure equipment as required
  • Draft and execute testing plans with respect to tasks, timelines, and budget
  • Maintain detailed documentation of testing processes, materials and equipment
  • Participate in process and design risk analysis
  • Develop and modify methods for testing components and assemblies


What we’re looking for in you:


  • Experience with statistical analysis software (Minitab, Excel, etc.)
  • A Bachelor's degree in an engineering or related technical discipline. Equivalent work experience will be considered.
  • Experience with CAD tools (Solidworks experience preferred)
  • A minimum of 1 year of professional work experience (internships and Coop will be included, medical device experience preferred)
  • Experience with test protocols with standard testing equipment (Instron, etc.)
  • Able to read and understand specifications, drawings, other technical documentation, and to communicate such information to others.
