Summary of Job Duties:
The Research Associate is an appointment under the Data Science and Artificial Intelligence Lab in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. Under the supervision of Dr. Susan Gauch, the Research Associate is responsible for assisting in a variety of non-administrative tasks which may include preparing resources, equipment, materials for research, documenting results, and submitting journal/conference publications in support of the research activities. Research projects should be in Big Data Science, Machine Learning, or Computer Vision. The research projects are intended to provide the opportunity to learn proper research procedures and techniques.

Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, or Data Science
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree and/or Doctoral degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, Biology, Physics, or Electrical Engineering

Additional Information:
This position is renewable annually based on continued need for the position, availability of funding, and satisfactory job performance.
