Remote Network Admin Jobs

*Must be US Citizen or Greencard Holder*

Requirements:

• A good understanding of Cisco IOS, IOS-XE and IOS-XR
• Knowledge of DNS
• Knowledge of implementing switches, routers and firewalls
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• LAN, WAN and MAN connectivity
• Understanding of Networking Protocols; ICMP, UDP and TCP/IP
• Basic understanding of Windows and Linux servers

Experience

• Customer service experience in an IT position
• 1 to 3 years’ experience in an IT position utilizing Cisco equipment

Responsibilities:

• Detailed monitoring of core network and upstream providers
• Handle Escalation from the Customer service team (Email, OTRS & Verbal)
• Network traffic analysis and performance management; evaluating network monitoring/surveillance tools and problem reporting (Checking Monitoring tools, Status Page, Events Page, etc.)
• Open tickets with upstream providers/vendors
• Customer support and successful resolution of customer issues
• Configure and maintain client routers, switches and firewalls
• Ability to work independently without supervision
• Router, Switch and Firewall configuration for On-net Buildings
• Updating Network Status page.
• Advanced troubleshooting of Metro Ethernet, Wide Area Network and Metropolitan Area Networks
• Escalation to Engineering as well as working closely with the Engineering department
• Mentor and Train NOC ½ and Support team as well as new employees
• Handle DNS issues, Network Issues and VM/Cloud issues.
• Work on trouble tickets to resolve customer and network issues in a timely manner
• QA wiki/Confluence submissions
• Assist customers in resolving networking issues.
