About The Alternatives Specialist Team
The position is an Analyst on the Alternatives Coverage Specialist team. The Alternatives Coverage Specialists work as product champions, liaising between the investment/portfolio management teams and the sales teams to drive product strategy, new business development, and client retention.
The focus of this role will be working alongside senior colleagues in prospect/client/consultant outreach, inbound requests, and Alternatives product rollout. As a member of the Coverage Group, you will partner with senior team members to develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders, assist in business development initiatives, and further drive operational efficiency.
Your Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the production of various RFPs, eventually building the knowledge and expertise to manage the RFP production process from start to finish for the relevant alternative products
  • Strategically review processes and suggest improvements to streamline overall operations
  • Support the broader team in developing strategic initiatives and partnerships, and participate in client interactions (meetings, industry conferences, etc.) when given the opportunity
  • Build subject matter expertise for the Alternatives products we offer, utilizing that expertise in support of the efforts of various groups in the business development process
  • Anticipate the needs of key stakeholders to facilitate and enhance the opportunity to drive new business development
  • Proactively produce, update, and coordinate marketing materials necessary for prospect, consultant or client meetings, working closely with marketing review group to ensure regulatory compliance and accountability
  • Respond to recurring and one-off information requests (related to performance, investment strategy, terms, etc.) from existing clients, consultants and prospects
  • Build a thorough understanding of institutional asset management marketplace including the processes and “best practices” of selling to that market
  • Support sales and AUM retention by assisting in the development of an overall marketing strategy for Alternative products through a combination of working directly with Senior Coverage Specialists and various functions across the organization
  • Build strong working relationships with Alternatives Coverage Specialists, relationship managers, client service managers, and other internal stakeholders
  • Utilize our Client Relationship Management system and external data sources to run reports, ensure accurate data use and management, and track market trends and competitive intel
Your Skills & Experience:
  • Attention to detail, responsiveness to clients, efficient time management, and deadline driven mindset
  • Basic understanding of Alternative asset classes preferred
  • Self-motivated, excellent work ethic, and team-oriented with the ability to effectively coordinate across various internal and external stakeholders in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • BA/BS degree, or equivalent FINRA Series 7 and 63 licenses or within three months of start date
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Power Point, and Word, with Salesforce familiarity strongly preferred
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and writing skills
  • Institutional client servicing experience desired

Expectations
It is DWS’s expectation that employees hired into this role will work in the office in accordance with the firm’s hybrid working model.

The salary range for this position in New York City is $60,000-$100,000. Actual salaries may be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate’s skill set, experience, education and other qualifications. Posted salary ranges do not include incentive compensation or any other type of remuneration.
